I've already invested to much time into my BSN program to just drop my plans now and I've still not solidified my decision to pursue med school after nursing. Thanks for the advice, maybe once I start in the ER as a nurse my decision may change. And I am pretty aware now of how long my road will be if I choose to try the physician route. MD/DO doesn't matter much to me as long as I make it!

Hey fellas, so just thought I'd see everyone else's thoughts on this? 1) WHY NURSING? 2) AGE? 3) LIFE GOAL AFTER NURSING? 1) I choose nursing to be a direct impact on people's lives and encourage people to do things they think they can't do. 2) 23 3) Possibly working towards a masters in nursing or going the pre-med route. Would like to work as an ER nurse and ICU nurse for a couple of years. Also considering the idea of flight nursing...

I graduate at 25yo, work for 5yrs and hopefully begin prereqs when i'm 30. Its never too late...I hope!

I agree nurse-to-physician route is definitely a longer route as far as getting a bachelors degree and taking pre-med reqs...but then again just figuring that out now in nursing school. Never thought much about becoming a physician until I was in nursing school...ironic. Well at the least its good to know i'm not the only one that feels this way. Still not exactly sure but for the time being, getting a BSN is my definite goal.

Hey fellas, I'm new to this site and just wanted to post this out of curiosity because it almost seems like a stigma to even mention in nursing school, anybody out there ever plan to be a doctor or ever considered it in the FUTURE (current BSN student)?
