  1. You can help solve this issue by becoming a nurse and exemplifying what you consider to be excellent “ customer care”. I have a feeling this is the •real• issue here , but I won’t open up that can of worms.
  2. You knew he lacked ambition when you married him. No?
  3. This is crap and these overinflated charges seem to be an attempt to placate the family and place blame. This seems more of an administrative issue than a nursing / clinical issue. Where was the doctor? Was he / she called? What was the doctors recommendation? What was the recommendation of administration in this matter? Did the nurses follow through on this recommendation? Events like this are quite eye opening , and unfortunately they serve to keep great clinical staff out of nursing homes - which are notorious for being under staffed, LITIGIOUS , limited resources, and high nurse to patient ratios.
  4. I took Organic Chemistry online two semesters ago. I passed with a " B" and didnt even know how to balance a simple equation:barf02:( I know). If your test taking/ using your resources skills are good, you'll pass.
  5. It sounds like OP doesnt have a good grasp of the English language.
  6. My very first thought.
  7. No you cant take two nursing classes in one semester. The previous is a prereq to the next. I applied to Trinitas with all of the prereqs completed except for chemistry. I had a 3.4 GPA and did not get in, I emailed the dean and she said once I completed Chemistry I had a better chance of admission, I never reapplied. I am now at Muhlenberg completing my first semester. A semester is about three months and I dont know of any college that lets you pay " monthy". If your tuition bill is not paid by the first week of class, you will surely be dropped. P.S-As of January 2014, ADM 110-Keyboarding and Computer Skills for Nursing will be a prerequisite to NURE 130. It is highly recommended to take this course as a pre-requisite now. A challenge examination is available for ADM 110. Best of luck. Semester I BIO 105 - Anatomy and Physiology I CHE 105 - Chemistry for Health Sciences OR CHE 113 - Inorganic Chemistry* ENG 101 - English Composition I NURE 130 - Nursing Trends and Concepts Semester II BIO 106 - Anatomy and Physiology II PSY 101 - General Psychology NURE 131 - Nursing I Semester III BIO 108 - Microbiology PSY 204 - Human Life Span Development NURE 132 - Nursing II Semester IV ENG 102 - English Composition II SOC 101 - Principles of Sociology NURE 231 - Nursing III Semester V NURE 232 - Nursing IV HUMANITIES Elective HUMANITIES Elective
  8. OP, as the previous poster stated, I doubt there are any Associate degree programs completely online. But you are able to take most ( if not all) of your pre reqs online- including your science courses, if your college has an online science + lab component, mine did and I took Anatomy 1 &2 along with Chemistry online.
  9. I took both Anatomy and Physiology I and II online with Ocean County College in New Jersey. The course materials are VERY expensive -and Mandatory-but I passed both with an A and they both transferred over PERFECTLY. The faculty is very helpful and professional. The cost will be even more substantial if you are an out of county resident. The tuition will be almost double.
  10. Alot of dimentional analysis ( conversions) , Flash cards help especially with the drug administration abbreviations
  11. We had both a lecture book and a lab book. The lecture book could be used to study for lab too.
  12. This is the most entertainment I ve had all week (sadly) thank you adam.
  13. This is really weird.
  14. Your class is Saturday and you don't have your textbook yet? Why?
  15. When I applied to Muhlenberg my GPA from UCC was a 3.5. All of my pre reqs are done except for Micro. A&P1- A . A&P2- B Chem 105-A. I took the Teas V and didnt do as well as I thought i should but passed by the schools cut off. Applying was a long, drawn out process consisting of a$75 application fee, an essay, 3 letters of reference, high school transcript, and previous college transcripts. Upon acceptance to the college, you have to pay a $150 " acceptance fee". Good luck
  16. Do you mean :Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing?
  17. I too go to UCC and just got accepted to the nursing program. The electives i took were both online: Fine Art and United States history.
  18. You are not a "Caucasian girl" if your father is Mexican. Just saying...
  19. Hey Joel, Ive completed all prereqs except for Microbiology. This Spring I will be talking Nurm119 and pharmacology. Our intro to nursing class is at the same time on the same day.
  20. Applicants should study for the exam and try to achieve the target, or higher, score in each category. Applicants applying for the Accelerated or Pathways-to-BSN Tracks are expected to earn higher scores.Generic or LPN-to-RN Track applicants should earn 68 or higher in Reading and Math, 60 or higher in the English Language section and 50 or higher in the Science section.Accelerated or Pathways to BSN Track applicants should earn 75 or higher in Reading, Math and English Language; 68 or higher in the Science section. In addition to the TEAS score(s), each program's Admissions Committee will consider an applicant's academic record, particularly their recent high school and/or college grades, the quality of their written essay and their referencesI did okay on the Teas, I didnt study and my scores barely got me in. Here are Muhlenberg's Teas requirements:
  21. Who's in?Im in!!Where are you attending?Muhlenberg School of NursingWhat are you most excited for?Im ready to start my clinicals and learn everything I can. What are you most scares about?I hear thr horror stories of how hard clinical is, I hope I can strike a healthy balance and keep up with the courseload. What planning do you need to do?I need to finish up my medical clearance , get my daughter enrolled in her new school, sort out financial aid, and prepare myself for dorm life.
  22. I took A&P1, A&P2,and organic chem online ( not all at the same time of course) . Each class had a required lab portion that must be completed at home with pictures sent to the instructor. I found that the materials( microscopes, labpaq, books, course codes) were EXTREMELY expensive. There is a syllabus, with rigid deadlines and group participation discussions worth a portion of your grade. While taking tests and quizzes, your browser will be LOCKED down. Meaning, the college made is download a program where we were unable to open ANY other browsers or tools on our computer while we were taking these tests. The tests of course are timed, and usually lock out at midnight of the last day due. Most of the test questions will come from a test bank, and can be easily Googled. I recieved an A in A&P1, a B in A&P2, and a B in organic chemistry, all of which transferred over seamlessly. Make sure to log in frequently as your instructors can see the frequency of your attendance. Good luck
