I've done camp nursing at 3 diff camps.... we've never done much with documentation.... get the standard pe form from family dr.... get contacts and emergency permission.... get list of meds the kids are on, will accept parents written or dr's not...

Our role as nurses is to report suspected abuse.... a good thing to remember is this report it, and let the agency do their job to figure it out.

We used hard plastic med boxes..... those things with each day, and or times on them..... at one of the camps, the first day of camp, in addition to checking kids in, meeting parents, and doing lice/athletes foot checks, and educating the kids/counse...

I work in a residential treament center for teens with emotional and behavioral issues... I'm not sure what pointers you are looking for... however I'd be glad to answer any questions you had of me.

Even if the director is required to make the call... anyone can call the hot line #. I'd trust your gut, report what you know.... and let social services do their job.... someday the kid may thank you for it.
