I once had a "difficult" mom show up randomly, from home, demanding meal and cab vouchers. She would always yell at me asking why she hasnt recieved her meal vouchers.
  2. That's awesome! Good luck with everything :)
  3. Thanks for all the great information! I cannot wait to put it use!
  4. This usually means that they are still accepting applications and may have not reviewed the applications yet. Once they start to go through applications and find enough qualified applicants they may pull the posting and start calling for interviews. This can happend over a few months or a few weeks.
  5. I would do the LTAC hospital

Amen!!! At my hospital job, my favorite is when parents come out to the nurses' station and state little danny has been crying for 10 mins. LOL. Or state he needs his diaper changed. Im like really? You took the time to walk out of the room down the hall to tell us that and then walk back to the room and lay down?
  7. i work per diem at hospital and it 1:4 and at my other job which is a peds long term care facility it is 1:7 or 1:9 with a nursing aide or a LPN in the room with a RN.
  8. I was torn between peds and maternity when i was new grad....however it is easier to get a peds new grad job than a new grad labor and delivery job.
  9. When i started there 7 years ago the starting pay for a new grad was 25.25. And it was full time with benefits. And you could call HR and ask for an interview with the unit of your choice. Things have changed so much. Now all new grads have a 6 month temp position with no benefits and its part-time basis. I think this is ashame nursing students work so hard inschool and deserve to have a full time job when they are done. I have had great experiences here and learned so much. It is a great place to work but like many hospital systems, it has its issues too. Good luck.
  10. Hey everyone I'm an experienced RN and i have an upcoming interview at BMH. Does anyone know what the interview process is like and types of questions they ask? I'm meeting with a nurse recruiter and the nurse manger. Does anyone know what its like to work for mainline hospital system? thanks
