PA to NJ Reciprocity Question
Hello everyone, I just had a couple quick questions regarding reciprocity. I graduated from a BSN program in May 2014, passed my boards and had multiple hospitals interested in hiring me. Unfortunately I had some random health issues arise and I have not been able to pursue a nursing career yet, but I finally feel that I am ready. I understand I am not the hottest prospect these days. That said, I have an employer who I believe is willing to give me an opportunity but they are in New Jersey and my license is in Pennsylvania. - Has anyone transferred an RN license from PA to NJ, and would you mind pointing me in the right direction on how to go about that? Also, if anyone can share their experience doing this that would be much appreciated. - How long did the whole process take and what did it cost you? - Will I need to put down some type of nursing experience to be able to transfer my license to another state? Hope to hear back soon! Thank you everyone!

What can I do?
Hey guys, I am a 21 year old male nursing student and I am a Junior at a University 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I am expected to graduate with my BSN in 2014. I feel that I am ready to look for a job in the hospital or medical field so that I am more comfortable in the setting when the time comes to look for a job. My only problem is that I do not know what position in the hospital to apply for. I do not have any hospital experience and I do not start my clinicals until this fall. I am CPR certified but to be honest that is about it. I have plenty of academic achievements for my resume but I am not sure how far that will get me. So with that said, I guess my question is what type of hospital positions am I eligible for if any at this time? I have applied for a couple transporter jobs but I do not see many of them job openings at this time. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

Hospital Question (Childrens Hospital, Philadelphia)
Thanks alot for the opinions and honesty. I am surprised to hear these things about CHOP. I thought it was the cream of the crop in terms of Philadelphia hospitals but I am hearing very mixed opinions. Even pay seems to be lower then the rest although I hear that nurses are treated great there. hiddencatRN, would you happen to know of St.Christophers new grad pay off the top of your head? Do you like it there?

Hospital Question (Childrens Hospital, Philadelphia)
Hey guys, I am a nursing student that will be starting my junior year of a 4 year BSN program in September. I live in the Philadelphia area and I was just wondering about Childrens Hospital (incase anyone is familiar). I have a few family members that work there that I believe will be able to help me once I graduate. I have heard good things about the hospital but it would be nice to get some true critics of this hospital. I am also very curious on the starting salary for new grads at Childrens incase anyone knows this information. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys! -Nick

Stethoscope Question.
Hey guys, I am sorry if this post is in the wrong place as this is my first post on the site. (I will learn with time, lol). I am starting my Junior year in a University nursing program this summer after doing 2 years at my local community college. With that said, I am trying to get my supplies together and I just have a couple questions about the stethoscope. What kind do you guys recommend? I have been giving the Littmman Classic II some thought. Also, my biggest concern is the length of the stethoscope. I have found a pretty good deal on amazon but I see that the one that I was looking at is 28 inches. Is 28 inches too long, should I try to go smaller? (I am a male and I am 5'6). I have NO prior knowledge of stethoscopes. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys! -Nick
