I have three kids, ages, 7, almost 9, and 10. I love my kids dearly! All I will say is it is possible to do anything you set your mind too. I will caution that there is a HUGE difference from two kids to three. My first two pregnancies were a nightmare, in and out of the hospital with things like, looming miscarriage, bed-rest (for days, then weeks which turned into months), spike of BP/ toxemia, decrease in amniotic fluid, baby with low heart rate, and one emergency C-section. My oldest child was born 6 weeks early, and my second 7 weeks early. My last pregnancy was amazingly different (to a degree). The first few months were a breeze, no hospital visits, no major issues, I was on cloud 9. I was amazed how "easy" this pregnancy was going, but I dare not say it aloud because of my past high risk pregnancies. Then it happened, my darling daughter brought home the flu from elementary school. I clearly recall the day that I became ill, February 15 2005. This date marked the day when all hell broke loose in my body. Having the flu caused me to get dehydrated, they contributed to "false" contractions (that turned into real contractions), one thing lead to another and I was put on strict bed rest (only allowed to go to the bathroom and MAYBE shower). Thirty seven days later, the contractions could not be stopped and I was brought into the OR for yet again, another c section. This time, my child was born just over 8 weeks early. I mention this because you can NEVER know what will happen during a pregnancy. If that is your focal point, have a baby. But understand that you can never predict what will happen. When I started going back to school , my youngest was 4 years old . I must say, now that they are all in school all day long, it is SO MUCH easier, to study and go to classes. 1:30 am by grownuprosie so, no, the fact that "in god we trust" is on our money means nothing to this conversation. actually it does apply, but i will not try to debate over it. my opinion and your opinion. i do not believe anyone should be forced to say the pledge (god, higher beings etc...), if it goes against their beliefs. i was simply saying we ignore the words on the money, skip over the words in the pledge that are offensive.

un 11 by lvn2bsoon the money we spend has "in god we trust".....do you not spend the same money that has something you disagree to on it? funny you mention this, i was just about to say, don't we all use money? an doesn't it say in god we trust?

Try a three sided buffing block for a beauty supply store, also use an oil, like OPIs avocado oil. I have done nails for YEARS (I took the cosmetology boards in 1993). Use only the shine buffers, NOT the white blocks that are fine files. They damage your nails.

I am not sure if this is true or not but I talked to a lady today at the shoe store and she said the "white" insoles (Pro XP model/Woman) are the standard sized Danskos (partly made on a machine). The Danskos that have the black insole (P model) are all hand done and the sizes vary. Take it for what it is worth. I am typically a size 8.5, I tried on a 39 today and they fit really well. I did not get them because I was unsure if I liked how they felt. My foot felt like it was going to fall out when I walked. I did walk and jump in them and they did not fall off lol. I am used to tennis sneakers with a snug fit and these fit nothing like that. The correct size, even felt somewhat too big. I have no idea, as I am not in clinical yet BUT I am sure someone will reply with, "to help you learn, to make you want to prove them wrong, or to make you stronger". I say, rude professors have nothing better to do in their lives and dwell on the power they have. I personally have always gotten along well with my professors. But I have seen the same professor that treats me well, answers all of my questions, go and belittle a student in my class. Its nothing new.

Is it much easier to get a RN job, if your clinical from nursing school was at the NYC hospitals? Thanks!

I was accepted to three different schools, but I have decided to go to Pace University at the Westchester campus. I have registered for classes, have been cleared for clinical and accepted all of my financial aid and loans! I have started the process of buying books, all I have to say is OMG!! I have to purchase, 8 books plus three bundles of books, an iclicker, a level II lab pack (no idea what this is yet), and my shoes and uniforms! (so far spent about $1,000 and not even half way done) ekkks Good luck to everyone starting classes in the fall!!!

Fantastic Post! I have no idea what this NETY comment is but I ignore it every time i see it LOL As a side note.... I often see people posting comments about the "old bats", but I have to say, that I have a HUGE respect for the more experienced nurses. I am by no means saying I do not have respect for new grads, I certainly do! This past October, my mother became very ill, she was in full system failure. After many many tests, exams, blood work etc, they finally discovered she had e-coil in her blood and urine. She was in the ICU for just over 13 days on a vent, had a heart attack and was transferred to a larger hospital. The ICU Rn's got to know me very well and became aware that I was a nursing student. At ever turn of my mothers path, the "old bat club" pulled me to the side and explained everything to me in detail, down to the numbers in each of her blood tests. If they had not done this, I am not sure how I would have gotten through it. They kept me sane and to this day I will forever have an enormous respect for them. I learned so many invaluable things during those few weeks! Some of my family found the more experienced nurses as rough, harsh or impersonal, I found them to be well educated and willing to explain anything, if they were simply asked. It was basically a matter of personal perception!

I have to take a math test on June 25 before I can start my clinical in the fall. They have stated we can use a simple calculator and need to score at least a 90%. I am using the book Calculate with Confidence. Good luck.

Stephalump & Miiki, actually neither of you have come across as rude to me. Like I said I have a thick skin and I personally I have not been attacked with rude posts, I feel sorry for the people who have been attacked. :)
