was postponed graduating for a two week Medical leave of absence
Yes I understand that my B/P is high, but what I guess I failed to say is that my class is set to graduate in Dec2012, and the school isnt willing let me take my two weeks off, even though just two weeks ago, another student took off two weeks. They want me to resart in Aug, 2012 which sets my graduation date to June 2013, that is over a year away. I have did all my work and I am in good standing with all my classes. I told them I would come to the school to take any test or what ever else was needed. I dont see the difference in myself having time off when another student just took time off too with no repercousions.

was postponed graduating for a two week Medical leave of absence
I recently(this week) was told by my doctor that I needed to take a two week medical leave of absence, because my blood pressure is critically high. Just two weeks ago a student in my class took a medical leave of absence to have a baby. She got to return to the program no questioned asked. I attend class every day and am passing all my classes with high grades, but I was told that I must wait until August to return and graduate with the next class. I find this as a form of discrimination, please feel free to post but please go gentle. I am upset as it is, due to this set back. Thanks Heather

Platt college
Umm, if you want honesty, its the money issue and they treat you as if you are in kindergarten. I don't feel you get what you are paying for, but that is my opinion.

I need some help please!!!
- Ready or not?
I am in the same boat as you, I am in clinicals now, but I worry that once I am in the real world I might not know enough.- How much was your LPN/LVN school?
I go to a private school as wellAll my books and scrubs included.$ 29000.- Im 24 and I want to be a nurse badly but my age discourages me!
I am 38 y/o. I will be graduating in Dec. 2012. Keep up the good work. You are still very young and its never to late to follow your dreams.- Mother and Nurse?
Finding the time to study and spend time with the kiddos. This is a hard course your life will change drasticlly. Good luck and best wishes to you. :):)- HESI for LPN
I passed with a 927. Most of the questions I missed were ones that I knew the answer to but was so nervous and read them wrong. You will do great.:)- Survived first Semester of nursing school
Congrates, I am in the same boat as you. Did you have to take a hesi test? I did and had to npass it with an 850. I passed it with a 927.- Platt college
I am attending Platt college now. If you can hold out for the waiting list or maybe try another votech in your area I would do that. If not go for it, its hard and a lot of people get dropped. But good luck.- Need help on finding info.
I have to write a paper(case study) on what advise a health care provider would tell parents of a child going to public school for the first time. What advise to help the child be successful. Where can I find this kind of information? Thanks, Heather:clown:- Do/did you enjoy Nursing School? Or hate it?
I go to school 8 hours a day, so I get tired, but with that being said, I still love it. There are a few class mates I could do without. I start clinicals in Jan. and I cant wait to take all this information that I have learned and see how it is put to use. Over all I say that I LOVE IT. I think when a person really wants something, they dont look at the bad as being bad they look at it for what it is( learning) and go on with the task at hand.- Passed my first Nursing course!
:yeah::yeah::yeah:- Hardest course in Lpn
Vitals are not as hard as you think they would be. listen to your instructor and she/he will allow you to practice as much as needed. However A&P has been my hardest class so far, but I hear that med surge is very difficult. Good luck and keep your head up and I am sure you will do fine.- Is it still possible?
Keep your head up! Some of my class mates and myself will have a review the day of the test. we will either get to school early to do this or eat lunch together. It has helped me. Dont get to discouraged. Good Luck to you!- First nursing school tests, how did you do?
I have had four test so far 91, 72(not passing) 84 and the last is still unknown until Monday. I have 2 more test on Monday aswell. Now that I know how the test are laid out, I will know what to study and maybe I will retain it better. Good luck to all!- Anatomy harder than nursing school classes?
I agree with you! I had a really hard time in A&P. But thats just me!- Got ACCEPTED and some questions...
If you find any, please let me know too! I have not been able to find any myself. Good luck to you!- Why are students going into LPN programs?
I finished all my general ed classes and pre req. then was put on a waiting list, I was told I would probably be on for 3 years. I decided for me at my age 37 that I would go the LPN route(and I am loving the classes) and then bridge into the RN program. There are still alot of LPN positions where I live. I think anyone should be proud of their education and occupation. We as nurses should never put anyone down for their own choice weather you agree or not. Everyone have a great day!!- How do you do school and work?
I am a full time student. I go to school from 8 am to 4 pm. I have a nine year old step son that lives with my husband and me. Finacial aid is helping with my cost of school but I am also making monthly payment to the college that I attend. My husband is the only one working at the moment. He has a nice income but we are still strapped each month. I feel like I need to work atleast part time b/c of the holiday being right around the corner. My question is to all the students that work, take care of children and their house. HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO IT AND STILL MANTAIN A GOOD GPA, MARRIAGE AND LIFE? what job would you recommend to help finances and get experince? - Ready or not?
