  1. Hi, I was looking for any info as well, did you ever complete the program?
  2. How about we do a challenge!!! I'm looking for a good support group. I started only last week. I was 164.4 and yesterday I weighed in at 162.4, I've been working out the times a week on my treadmill, utilizing daily burn maybe twice a week and I'm creeping slowly into yoga. I'm using Noom weight loss app and I drink plenty water. I do watch what I eat during the week and I indulge a little on the weekends. what do you guys think?
  3. Hi everyone Iwas recently inquiring about fortis. Was about to enroll and had to very carefully weigh my options. My mom went there for the LPN to rn program and succeeded. I am hesitant because they really dont want u to work. As a mother of three I absolutely HAVE to work. I'm currently at Reynolds finishing up the pre reqs for the LPN to RN. Only thing keeping me there is the flexibilty. I have a friend who is startIng in. Few weeks. I am still hesitant. Working is doable there, I just don't know.....
  4. I am too, a little. It's more anxiety than anything. I took A & P before in LPN school so I kind of know what to expect, we shall see
  5. OUCH!!! Those scores are killing me. Congrats!!! You should have no problem getting accepted. I'm also at Reynolds, I am applying for the Spring acceptance, this upcoming Fall will be my last semester of Pre-reqs. I have 3 more classes to go (MTH 126 and BIO 142) I'm taking BIO 141 this summer. I wish you all the best, please update whether you've gotten accepted ( as I know u will).
  6. I'm interested in OB (Hence the name) but I'll take Neonatal, PEDS, or E.R.
  7. Hey, I too am taking A/P this summer (10 wks also), I am taking it with a developmental math class (1cr.) I chose to do it this way because I think it'll benefit me. I'll take A/P II this fall along with other classes. I have taken ENG this past fall and it wasn't really difficult, just a lot of writing (as expected). To be honest with you, believe that I could've taken it online. I don't struggle with writing at all. Hope this helped. Good luck, it can be done.
  8. Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted, but I'm still around. Just wanted to come in and say that I am still doing my Pre-reqs for J Sargeant Reynolds CC LPN-RN track. I was seriously considering leaving and going to Fortis (15 mos.) but I realized that I really dont want to add more money onto my student loans (especially that amount). Also, I realized that I only have 3 pre-reqs left YAY ME!!! I'm just gonna stick it out and stay at Reynolds. I enrolled in my summer classes today. I will be taking BIO 141(A&P I) alone this summer. This upcoming fall I will be taking BIO 142 (A&P II), MTH 126 (Math for Allied Health) and ITE 215 (Advanced Computer Concepts)... I took it in HS and got a F, so it is really bringing down my G.P.A. Just wanted to peek my head in and say thanks a bunch for being here, only y'all know what it is like as a student nurse. Love ya, smooches

  11. yes mam, so many options to choose from, have no idea what the best route is
  12. This week at work (Golden Living) Skilled Unit, 2 NPs on two seperate occasions asked if I was a LPN or RN, and that i should go for RN. they said for me to be new i am an excellent nurse, they even said I should think about becoming a NP. That secretly is my dream. I am currently taking pre-reqs for the LPN-RN bridge program, but that just gave me extra incentive to just GO FOR IT!!! Im so excited and proud of myself. They see my potential.... Not really asking anything, just wanted to share.
  13. Love it Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  14. it took me three months to finally get a job.... good luck!
  15. O okay. My facility offers this, the Baylor plan I believe. There are a lot of nurses and CNAs there that do this Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  16. Thanks commuter. I'm only worried about the amount I'll have to pay back combined with my LPN education. I have a lot to weigh before I make a decision. What was your program like If u don't mind. Thanks Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  17. Hi everyone, I just have a question and need a bit of advice. Ok, I'm currently in my first semester of pre reqs at my community college for the LPN to rn bridge program. Im liking it and doing well but honestly I'm wondering if I should choose a tech school. I plan on weighing my options for both. Im mainly considering the tech school because it's a lot quicker also a lot more expensive. I just feel like I can't take the chance of busting my *you know what* just to not get into the program. Even with a near perfect GPA the program is so competitive, the reality is I may not get in the first time. I'd hate to waste so much time waiting for a spot or waiting another semester. The entire process can be 2-3 years or even more. I guess what I'm asking is should I stick it out here at my college or go somewhere else where I'm automatically in and for a shorter time? Serious inquiries please, no bashing please Thanks in advance Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  18. It took me 3 months to find a job after licensure. I finally start tomorrow. My advice is to send resumes, do applications, FOLLOW UP, know the name of the hiring person, attend job fairs. Don't let them forget your name...ever!!! I actually landed my job at a job fair. I did send my resume previously though. I called to follow up and they told me about the job fair. Funny thing is they only called people who actually applied or sent on theIr resume. It wasn't listed in the newspaper or anything. Good luck and I wish u well Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  19. I hope all goes well. Hopefully everything is good with you now. I wish u all the luck in the world. Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  20. What helpede during a&p during LPN school. (Not as intense as a bachelor's but still) was to take notes during lecture, take notes during chapter reading,, use mnemonics for charts and other things you have trouble with and the interactive CD. It is invaluable. Rgey will have little games and other interactive tools you can use. Vert helpful. Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  21. I'm a new grad. Don't start until Tuesday so I don't know how much help my input will be but I'll contribute if u like. Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  22. I'm taking bio 141 (a&p 1) next semester. I'm doing all of my classes online next semester EXCEPT A&P. I feel that class should be in an actual traditional class. Too tough to do online Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  23. Classes started today. It was pretty good. I enjoyed my professor so far. The first day kinda sets the tone for the entire semester. I got a good feeling from him. Hopefully I'll feel the same way tomorrow about my English and sociology professors. Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  24. I'm taking ITE115---Intro to computers (required for all freshman) SDV 100----college success skills (required) SOC 200---sociology ENG 111----English MTE 1------ ---------------since I sucked on the vpt, I'll be taking these math classes MTE 2------ The math courses are only 4 wks each. So is SDV. it won't be a full schedule until October/November. I'm gonna need "the force" to be with me then. Especially since my two oldest are in school as well (2nd grade and headstart). Plenty late night's and early mornings. Classes start tomorrow. I accept the 4.0 challenge!!!!! Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
  25. I loved those replies. Those are my thoughts exactly maybe I'm outshining them. I'll never dull my shine to benefit someone else. I'm not cocky or overly confident. But I'm definitely not gonna "dumb myself down" to make people like me. I love you ALLNURSES. you keep me on my toes and keep it real when needed. Thanks so much Finally a nurse...All for my three♡♡♡
