  1. I have read a lot of great and useful tips and a lot ofwhich hit home for me. I am the type of student that doesn't know when to takea break when studying. When I get frustrated from not understanding something, instead of walking away and coming back to it I frustrate myself even more bybeating myself up for not understanding the material. I really do appreciateeveryone's feedback and response and I want to thank everyone for the wellwishes and support. I will definitely be reporting back with updates throughthe semester and encourage others to do the same.
  2. Tomorrow is the first day of school and I am taking A&P 1 this semester. I was all excited and ready to go before but now I am flooded with anxiety. I have already tried to prepare myself by reading ahead but I also want to start a support thread for those taking this class as well or hear from others who have already taken the class (that always helps). Wishing everyone much success this semester!
  3. Someone made a comment about the nay sayers being people not happy with their own lives. I couldn't agree more. I have had everyone around me (excluding my immediate family) try to discourage me from my "friends", counselors, co-workers, people who should be supportive but are not. People who are stuck in dead end jobs and are miserable, and we all know "misery loves company". I had "friends" who would stop at nothing to discourage me with going forward with my dream, telling me it's too late, or saying that I would be selfish to go back to school when I should be working (at the same dead end job as them) to take care of my daughter, or asking how I could afford it. Now I am two classes away from reaching my goal which is finishing my pre-reqs to apply for nursing school. Thanks for the great post!
  4. Lovely suggestion. Will definitely try this this time around.
  5. I was just talking about this with my mother today. Actually I am quite the opposite. When classes start, I tend to lose weight and eat less than normal. I just get so consumed with class work and studying all of the time that I just don't really have the time (or make time) to eat. My four year old makes fun of me and says I look like a skeleton because my cheeks become so hollow. I have got to do better this semester!
  6. I had this same problem when trying to register for my A&P I class for this fall semester. However I chose to go with the professor with no ratings. Best of luck to you this semester.
  7. Great answer! And good luck to you!
  8. These are some really good tips because I too have been experiencing a little anxiety. Three more days left before starting my Anatomy class.
  9. You're welcome, and I hear you! Our hard work will surely pay off in the end. Good luck this semester, future nurse
  10. This semester I am taking A&P I with lab and English 1302. Then I will be left with only A&P II/lab to take next semester. I too, accept the challenge!
  11. Hey tesouthern! I saw you in another thread I posted in and noticed we're in the same area. What nursing programs are you applying to, if you don't mind me asking?
  12. Way to go with your preparation, especially with such a full load. So you are able to apply to the nursing program of your choice while your science pre-reqs are in progress?
  13. Yes, I can not wait I will be taking A&P I and start on the 26th as well. Good luck!

Sorry, don't know how to delete thread.
  15. Following! I too am taking A&P I this fall semester. Like you, I attempted to take it before but had to drop due to a lot of personal issues. I have since placed everything else on the back burner and am more than ready now. Good luck to you this semester!
