New grad job southern california
Just saying, I'm from Southern California. Graduated in May 2014 and got one or two interviews down there within 6 months. Applied out of state and started getting calls daily. I started a job on the east coast 8 months after graduation.

Your very first or worst interview experience
My first interview was a one-way video interview. It was terrible. It was really awkward staring at myself on the computer screen. There were a bunch of long pauses and I stuttered the whole time. I don't know how, but I went through to the second round of interviews. I didn't get the job though.

Virginia to California; New Grad; Moving advice?!
The spring new grad programs open anywhere from October to December with start dates in February/March. A summer program might be better for you since you will still need to take the NCLEX. Applications will open around March with start dates in July/August. I would check the hospital's website frequently to see when they will post applications. The hospitals are Sharp, Scripps, Kaiser, UCSD, Tri City, and Alvarado.

New Grad Looking to Relocate (Help!)
California is already super saturated with new grads so I wouldn't recommend it unless you are really serious about moving there

Virginia to California; New Grad; Moving advice?!
1) With the CA BRN you just have to keep calling them until you get a hold of someone. It can get frustrating, but keep calling. I have had luck with just emailing them my questions. 2) You can register to take the NCLEX in CA. I heard it's easier to do that because the process of endorsement for CA takes a very long time. 3) Southern CA is super saturated with new grads so it is difficult for them to get a position in an acute care setting. Your CNA experience may help you. You may also want to look into RN-BSN programs. 4) I'm doing the opposite. It only took a week for VA to process my paperwork but it has taken over 3 weeks (and counting) for CA to verify my license. Good luck! I love San Diego.

SDSU Undergrad Nursing- Where does clinicals take place?
There are no clinicals on the weekend. Med Surg 2 has 2 clinical days a week, and they are scheduled back to back (ex: Tues-Wed or Thurs-Fri) You may also have clinicals for different classes. For example, Peds clinical on Mondays and OB clinical on Fridays.

has anyone moved across country?
If you're mind is set on a particular state, it definitely helps to get licensed in that state (or at least be in the process of it).

Cedars-Sinai New Grad Residency - March 2015
I don't work there. When I went to the second round, the manager was really distracted by the other manager (we were sharing a table) and she was obviously tired of interviewing (this was at 4 pm). It wasn't a good experience, although I did well. I hope it works out better for you. They will give you more information about the program when you sign in.

Cedars-Sinai New Grad Residency - March 2015
I interviewed last cohort. We were in a big conference room and there were multiple interviews going on at the same time while others were waiting to be called.

SDSU Undergrad Nursing- Where does clinicals take place?
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors have different clinical placements because they are taking different courses. It is not likely they will see each other. And you are placed at a specific hospital for the whole semester. You are also not in the same clinical group every semester.
