A patient's experience with RUDE nursing staff.. Should this be reported?
So sorry that your friend had to go through this. Reading it made me mad also...I really think that she should report this. I got so mad that I thought she should have reported this on the spot. I would have confronted those disrespectful nurses and then report them...then see the doctor face to face and let them know that I know the doc is still here...there was NO emergency. I definitely would never go back to this place. Report them!

Just found out my start date for VA Hospital RN job. Woohoo;)
Wow...I am not a nurse yet but I thought that it would be easy seeing all the openings that some hospitals have. This has shined a new light. Thank you! I am so happy that you found a job! Good luck!

Exposed to flesh eating bacteria, scared
You gave good advice to see someone right away...that is definitely not something you just want to wash off and think it is gone. I was be terrified also!

Awkwardness....what to do?
I agree...that was my first thought...that there might be some tissue left that can really cause problems. The other posts about getting him aside and address the issue is the thing to do...then all will be taken care of when you explain why you didn't want to return. :)

Too sensitive to be a nurse?
I totally agree with this post. The animals were taken into the home...you can survive nursing if you don't take patients home with you.

Better Option: Pregnant in nursing school/after
That is a tough one...I would wait until I finish school and then try to get pregnant. There are too many pros and cons to this...

I made my first med error, stupid me, why report it!??
I am so sorry that this happened to you! I feel that you did the right thing by reporting the incident...it shows that you care about the patient instead of putting yourself first. Just give it some time, something will happen at the hospital...knowing how unpredictable it is, people will forget about what happened. It will all blow over before you know it!

Need encouragement please
I commend you and your fiance for doing this...going to school and work at the same time. I think you two can do it, you really have to sacrifice some things to get where you need to be. Maybe you can move to a cheaper apartment if possible. But you can try to see what the government can do for you guys...get federal student aid or a student loan...anything and everything will help. And if you can get classes done online, that will be a huge help to you. Good luck with everything and I know that you two can get through this.

help me, should i include this on my employment history?
This is a tough one. It was so unfair of that place to make you do something that you do not agree with, plus they only gave you 13 days and probably didn't even inform you that you had that little. I would keep that off of my resume completely, but then again, it would be good to have it on there to show that you have some experience. Weigh out your pros and cons. Good Luck!

Struggling with ER doc-advice?
I don't think you would be "tattling" at all. He is really unprofessional and he might not be taking care of the patients the correct way. I wouldn't want to work with someone like that. And I do like what Canoehead said, make incident reports and let the manager handle it.

okay, where's the body?
I have been reading so many different scenarios that can happen in a hospital that it's almost scaring me away from nursing. Deceased bodies being forgotten about and left somewhere??? WOW! I would have never thought.

Alien hand syndrome!
I have never heard of anything like this and it is so interesting! I looked it up and was just amazed at what our body does to us when things aren't connected right. I am so sorry that people are going through this kind of thing. I hope someone comes up with a cure soon.

One Born Every Minute (nurses seem to sit around a lot)
I've heard of this show and would like to take a peek at it...seems interesting. Someone posted about Boston Med...it was GREAT! I can't believe they just teased us with it!

Anyone see "The Drs" where they talked about nurses?
"The Doctors" is a great show! Its really informative, especially with the 4 different types of docs that they have on there. Everyone should watch the show! I tune in every chance I get!
