    We used Mosby Paramedic books.
  5. I'll be starting the RN-BSN bridge program in the Fall, but that probably doesn't help you any.
  6. No she did not raise her hand and ask (during a Pharm test) "How many cc's are in a ml?"
  7. What about Excelsior? If you are already an EMT you can get your RN that way. I know several medics who have gone that route.
  8. Yes that is a great book. It will really open your eyes.
  9. I am in my fourth semester out of five and I only go one day a week from 8-3, but the first year we did go more than that.
  10. I drive an hour to school. I only go 1 day a week, as this is my second to last semester. The first semester I had to go to school 4 days a week. I have racked up 33,000 miles on my car in a year. I only drive 30 minutes for clinicals, but this is the first semester they have been this close. I have drivien up to 90 miles from home to get to a clinical. I just tell myself it is not forever.
  11. Highlighters, mini stapler
  12. Well for one RN's can't intubate. Paramedics can
  13. We have to pay for our own pinning ceremony too. We are selling t shirts and sold stethoscopes and other clinical supplies to the beginning nursing class.
  14. I have been a Paramedic for 4 years and graduate RN school in May 2005. I have found my experience as a medic to be extremely helpful in nursing school. It has made things soooo much easier in clinicals and book knowledge. I am not entirely sure I want to work in the ER when I get done and I have considered flight nursing one day. I would probably go on for your medic instead of just the EMT-B if I were you.
  15. Huntsville, Alabama
  16. I agree with Dplear -- Who cares
  17. A) Sounds like they were Basic EMT's and not Medics possibly not realizing that the kid was unstable. B)There was some sort of communication breakdown somewhere in choosing which crew, ALS or BLS to send C) They could have called you on a cell phone to give you report.
  18. Try Amazon.com they have used textbooks
  19. Job security and the money, plus endless oppurtunities and also it is not a Monday-Friday 8-5 gig. I hate those.
  20. He got Viagra and I believe she got Pitocin
  21. Some of my favorites The guy who had a roach crawl in his ear so he sprayed Raid in his ear or the 18 y/o guy who "poured Peroxide on his hand and it turned white" or the couple that got "stuck together" EMS brought them in on top of one another on the stretcher.
  22. I am a nursing student as well and you can get school insurance for cheaper than 400/mo. Check online I got insurance for around 130 bucks for 3 months. It is crappy insurance, but better than nothing.
