  1. sounds like a good coping mechanism but be careful you don't get burnt out too quickly. i also experienced this from pcts and a few nurses but six months into my job as a new grad i can now say i have none of these problems anymore and i just play surface friendship with everyone. i pretend as if i don't understand even when they are mean. i just want to do my job and go home. a lot of these difficult people have underlying problems or no peace in their homes and hearts.
  2. Hugs! Sorry you had a bad day. I'm a new RN myself and I asked myself if I would have done better but I don't think so. Thank Goodness there was another nurse available to help.

  13. I've found that calling after applying online helps. Keep calling until you actually get to speak to the Nurse recruiter. I wish you the best in your search.
  14. Makek use of your school counselor. Take brochures of all nursing schools in your areas and know what their requirements are. Then apply to the ones that seems suitable to you. I wish you the best.

  18. Can someonne be kind to help me with the below question. i got stucked on it preparing for my med admin. exam. All contributions welcomed. Prescription is to give 250 mg Ancef IM every 8 hours. The medication is available as a powder in a 1 gram vial. The reconstitution directions state to add 2.5 cc of water to the vial. Shake well till dissolved. The solution concentration will equal 330 mg/ml. Fluid volume will equal 3.0 ml. How much solution do you give each time?
  19. No, why dont you check out websites of school like UCONN, YALE etc
  20. I have heard of certificate program in RN for Direct entry into Nursing, for people who have prior college degree. The program is usually divided into two part; the first year you are issued a certificate in nursing, and you are eligible to take the NCLEX. You are given a MSN for the second part of the program when completed.
  21. Thanks for all the reply. It's really interesting! I'm just trying to get a feel of as much specialties as possible. Starting school in January and I'm as nervous as can be. I really cant' wait for January to come. My DH must be tired of me by now I can't make one statement without wrapping it around NS.
  22. hi all, i'll be starting school in the spring ;)and i'm interested in working in the nicu, hopefully, this remains constant thru out school. i've been told one could have a change of mind once clinicals start. well my question to you is is working in the nicu physically stressful? if so, what part of the body takes the most beat? is it easy to transition from nicu to other nursing specialities? thanks for answering my questions.
