  1. I don't know if it counts for worst scrubs but a lot of women at my LTC facility like to wear their pants as capri's. For some reason I find this very unprofessional. Also, I really wish I could find a pair of scissors for all of those that bend over and share their thongs with us. Ugh!!!
  2. Hey, wait for me. I want to go too!!!
  3. My first time just SEEING staple in someone's knee I almost went down. I left the room, sat down, put my head between my knees and prayed I wouldn't pass out. I have been fine ever since.
  4. I really like using Vaseline Intensive Care, works wonders! Anything with goats milk in it has worked successfully too. I found that switching from the powdered latex gloves to vinyl gloves is a plus. The powder seems to wick the moisture from your hands and dries them out more.
  5. Impressive!!! I needed to hear that today. Thank you.
  6. This site helped immensely!!! http://msjensen.cehd.umn.edu/WEBANATOMY/default.asp
  7. My mid-term is next week, argh!!! How is everyone doing?
  8. I got the Kaplan Medical Anatomy coloring book. It's great!!!
  9. I'm starting A&P on the 19th. I'm only taking Anatomy and Algebra this semester since I also work full time. I've got my books already and they are sitting on the table growling at me. I may be crazy but I'm also doing both of these classes on line. Good luck everybody!!!
  10. Wow, I'm so sorry you had to get a guilt trip for this. You did everything you were supposed to do and don't let some nurse make you feel bad for it. Bless you for caring enough to keep your patient comfortable. :redbeathe
  11. Congratulations!!! Your story brought tears to my eyes. What an inspiration.
  12. I work in LTC on the re-hab floor. This is my third year there and I absolutely love the fast paced environment as well as the feeling of helping people get well and go back to their home. My dilemna may just be me, but I think I'm hitting some sort of burn-out. I work second shift so it is just one other aide and myself doing HS for 20 people. I have a lot of patients in my area that come in as 2-aides then as they get better they get to the "independent" stage. The other aide gets in a lot of more traditional patients whereas most of them will eventually stay at the LTC facility. Here is the the problem. When I get my residents done, besides helping answer call lights throughout the whole hall too, I help whoever I work with get the rest of their people done. A lot of times my co-workers will just let my call lights go and sometimes their's too because they know I'll get them. But I keep hearing everyone say I have it "easy". I don't understand. I work hard and I feel that whoever I work with and I are a team and just because at times I have 2 or 3 independents doesn't mean I don't put into my work all I've got. Does this make any sense? I'm exhausted every night I work because I care about everyone on the hall. Can I be caring too much?
  13. I apparently need help!!! Thank you in advance. :heartbeat
