This was an excellent article! I have only been a nurse for 2 years. When I graduated I wanted to do ICU but no one would call me back. I was eager to get a job and got a job at an LTAC facility. It was hard work but you know what? I learned so much in that first year. There is so much you see and you get to really practice your nursing skills. When I was asked," Where do you work?" and I responded," LTACH" I would get snide remarks from the other nurses working in the units. I strongly believe that new grads could benefit working in Long term care. I feel that LTACH gave me the foundation for going into ICU. I miss it at times. I was told if you can work LTAC/LTC you really can work anywhere. Also the whole attitude in nursing of ICU nurses are better than med surge, or LTACH nurses has to go. We all use Critical thinking skills. We are seeing patients with a myriad of complex issues in all areas which are requiring all nurses to stay abreast of information that will enhance our practice. We have got to stop bullying and attacking each other if we are to keep our profession strong. A house divided cannot stand.

Did the ATI virtual tutor helped a lot passed with 75 questions. I also did questions from LaCharity. Get that book helped a lot with priority and delegation questions.

I did ATI and the Illustrated NCLEX review book. Did questions from LaCharity and read Kaplan.

Me too. I know they say the PVT works but I need to see it officially posted on my state BON. We don't have quick results here. Should be posted tommorrow. Congrats on all those who passed. I am still in shock mode that it's all over....

Just took mine today and got the good pop up! 75 questions and lots of prayers from family and friends! Pray works along with hard work! Congrats

Hey I am a Philly native and UPenn is a really nice school. It is Ivy League you know....Philadelphia has plenty of hospitals and a nice night life.

Hey ladies I got my letter I did not get in. The letter said I was eligible but due to the limited number of slots I didn't have the number of points. I am wondering if not taking classes at the school hurt my chances? I took all my pre-req at another school out of state. I am going to call the counselor tomm I might have to take the classes over to see if I can get an A because I got B's in all my pre-req. I am really bummed out if you guys have any suggestions let me know I was thinking about doing the BSN but that is even longer.....Need some advice I am so hurt right now. Congrats Texabama for making it in! I am sure you will do well! 4theTide keep the faith and your letter should be arriving soon! If you ladies still want to meet and celebrate I am still up for that! I didn't get anything today. I still have the crud and feeling worse today...I am going to get a good nite rest and give it till Sat no later than Monday. I will keep you guys posted as well.

So what do you tell prospective nursing students? It's not worth it?

Thanks Lady3dd. I do have a backup plan it's just I wanted to do the ADN because it would be faster. There is always different avenues to take to reach your goal...and this is something i really want. Thanks again for the insight and encouragement........Good luck to everyone

That really makes me nervous...please pray for me....

I know! We really need to meet once we get our letters for a girls' nite out to relieve the stress and strain from waiting...But you know I was thinking you know it's going to be just as bad at Jeff State as well.....Ok going to stay positive because we don't know how many of the 700 applicants were applying for RN and LPN and then again does it really matter :uhoh21: it's competitive and we are going to have to wear our knees out praying ladies!!!!!!
