Sorry, Atheist means without belief. Pagan means you have belief. Atheist from the Greek A - without theist- god or gods. Pagan - polytheistic many gods. can't be a pagan atheist. But it's a free county you can call yourself any thing you want.

Military for a paycheck? You ever see a military paycheck. They do it for a lot of reasons but please not for a paycheck. How about the solders that never see a battle. That fight a war of nerves the ones that are in the silos on top of enough nuclear power to vaporize the world, the ones sailing around the world trying to keep the waters safe, how about the cost guard rescue. Yeah they do it for a paycheck. Civilians sicken me.

How about the US congress they start the wars. They sign the checks that patriotic men and women have to pay for with their lives. How many of those slobs in congress ever wore the uniform of this country. Very easy to condemn the military, when it's those bums in congress that are to blame. When I was in I worked among heroes. A GI doesn't have a say in what war he will fight and die. Presidents start wars and then just ride off into the sunset.

That's how many teachers and one it's talking down to you. That's humanity. Wait to you get out and deal with Doctors.

In most place they'er not. Nursing schools don't train you because there is a job waiting for you. They train you because that is how they make their money.

My first patient in Med/Surg died 15 minutes after he was admitted. Death should not scare you. It is part of life. The most common emotion of a new nurse is, "Was it something I did to kill the patient." When you get over this you will be fine. It was just the patient's time to go. I've been a nurse for centuries. I have never seen a death of a patient that could be linked to the nurse. Not to say that it does not happen, but I have never seen it. I have worked in LTC most of the time. Death and I are old friends. I can feel when he is around. He's nothing to fear. As a nurse he will visit you from time to time. He's just doing his job as we do ours. Just like some old Greek said, "Where Death is there is no pain, where pain is there is no Death."

Just put cut backs. Don't go into your work history of not working out. Just put hospital cut backs. Skip the drama.

Do you see Oscar coming down reality street. What you describe is nursing - Not Nursing school stuff - but real nursing. The best you can do while your a new nurse is keep them alive. As you get in the swing of things you may be able to change things. I remember my first days in LTC. Disaster. I was given the same advise that I am giving you. After three years I was able to help the direct staff. rounds were done every two hours. With the staff even me doing a every 15 minute walk through.I retrained the staff little be little until Patient were not only left alive but happy. What new nurses don't want to hear is that it will take time. The staff that you described has probably been doing this kind of care since Moses was in tennis shoes. You are not going to change it over night. I sorry to say this but the days of "I love you- You love me are over. You don't quite because you have a bad day. You keep on Keeping on. And you learn Such is the life you chose.

Volunteering is the best thing that you can do. It will get you use to the sights, sounds, and smells of the hospital.It will make you less freaky on your rotations through the hospital because you will be use to people in pain. I have one suggestion try and see an autopsy. I will help you when you take Anatomy and make you less nervous around dead bodies.
