Hello everyone, I've been trying to get a job as an RN in a Hospital for several years now and I haven't been able to. I currently live in FL. My question here is; How can you get experience if they do not give you any opportunities? My last hospital experience was in 2011. I have tried everything. I got three interviews, but nothing happened. It's very frustrating.

I am a nurse since 2005 and I recently moved to FL. I haven't been able to find a job. I applied everywhere. It's very depressing. I sometimes feel like giving up. I had several events in my personal life that hurt my career. ( haven't been in a position long enough) I have great recommendation letters but that doesn't help me. Anyone knows how can I get a hospital to give me an opportunity?

Yess you are correct!!!!! The exams are veryyyy different. I took the NCLEX but didnt have to take an English Exam. The only state that would change the PR license by endorsement without taking the NCLEX is Florida but only if you've worked in a hospital for two years before requesting the endorsement. I posted the message on thi subject because i read somewhere here tht we were international and also some colleges in the US think that we are. The do their homework and the call you back saying "sorry you were right".

Hello, Iam also a PR nurse and I have to say that my experience working there was horrible. patient Ratio can be more than 20 per nurse. Believe me is so sad to say but hospitals are gone from bad to worse. You can say that they are more quantity that quality. The pay is bad and you have to do everything. I mean LPNs all they do is basic stuff, cant give out meds, nothing like the RN. Rns are responsible for everything and get no help. NPs are only found in the VA hospitals and if you want to study for NP you have to be either unemployed or be very lucky that a hospital will work around your studying scheduled. I wanted to study for NP but wasn't able to because the hospital I worked with wouldn't work around my scheduled because they said that i wouldn't be of any use to them with an NP tittle. I have to say that even though nursing is nursing no matter where you are, there is a difference.
