  1. Would I date a pt?----Depends on their Dx!
  2. Even if you don't see it---27 is still very young. You still have a lifetime to learn and experience anything you put your mind too! And from what Im told...30's are the new 20's!
  3. At my school after your 1st semester you can sit for the CNA exam--might be something to check into.Good Luck!
  4. My Grandma had Alzheimer's and we cared for at home and it would always help if we gave her a baby doll to hold while we bathed her--even though she could no longer communicate verbal it seemed she was still very "motherly"--i don't know if it just put the attention somewhere else or if she really thought it was a baby and didn't want to upset it. Hope this helps!Good Luck:D
  5. When Im stressed--i do things that make me feel like a kid again---i read books like Harry Potter, or watch cartoons, color with my kids, and flip through my daughters "teenybopper" mags---sounds silly but it does help escape reality for alittle while.
  6. Nuns wear black--and honestly who doesn't trust a nun!?! Sorry-just being silly! I do agree with you for the most part--I think a nurse wearing all black would scare me alittle. Maybe just black pants with a different colored or print top wouldn't be too bad!!
  7. isis im sure you will be okay--i'll keep my fingers crossed:D I do have a question for all that have been"stuck"---I am a nursing student and have never given an injection---I have been a Phlebotomist full-time for the past 6 years and have never been "stuck"--im just wondering if injections are more difficult/dangerous to give then drawing blood-----im getting alittle worried now, I was kinda counting on that to be one of my advantages in school!?!
  8. i would not. i have worked in too many LTC facilities to know what goes on there. I would hate to think my mom or dad would have to turn a call light on to use the bathroom and wait until someone if anyone would come. I have also worked with alot of people who were only there for the paycheck not because they really cared about the resident---There are alot of LTC staff that really do care also- but are shafted with understaffing and find it hard and impractical totry and answer every call light light as soon as it blinks.
  9. If his first name was Vin and his last name was Diesel----oh yeah!!!
  10. That was nice of you to respect his privacy.
  11. What a wonderful thing you did--there is no gift more priceless than life!!
  12. Well at least you know you make your patients feel comfortable enough to tell you anything----that could be one way to look at it:D
  13. You take care of yourself first--then worry about work. Hope you feel better soon!:icon_hug:
  14. Maybe the "DR" title stands for= "Don't Return":lol2:
  15. Your staff should feel lucky to have someone like you to work under...you seem to have compassion toward your staff. If the story is legit---i agree with the comment made that maybe she could start her shift 15 minutes early. But if you think that she may be taking advantage of your kindness, then i would go to your supervisor and let her/him make the decision.
