I did my preceptorship in the emergency room at mccg. I survived 3 months, it wasn't bad. My preceptor was very nice to work with and a good teacher. Some nurses have attitudes with students or just don't want to take the time to teach you somethi...
I will be starting a new job next week and the RN's are required to wear black or white scrubs. What is the rationale behind black scrubs? Why in the world does management think it's suitable? It's just depressing & gloomy looking to me. At l...

I feel your pain & frustration lpnboo. I just accepted a position monday, it only took about 3 months. I ran into the same issues with nobody giving me chance with no experience. I finally found a nurse manager that believes in giving people a...
Any suggestions on how to get a position in a NICU when the hospital gives 1st preference to their own employees or experienced nurses? You can't get experience if your not given a chance. I live in an area that there is only 1 hospital with a NICU...
Has anybody else had trouble finding a position in the middle ga area for an RN? All the hospitals have very limited openings. It's very discouraging especially if you are only interested in one area.

In my past experience as an LPN, I could start IV's but could not push anything (lasix, pain med etc.). Did not have opportunities with piccs or central lines, don't think I would have touched them though.
