LPN Travel
@jonesgeo I don't think our Co tracts are as competitive as those of RNs. I'm in dialysis and outside of NY state I feel that I'm mostly used as a tech. The 1 agency that I work with I feel they compensate me well as far as take home and car rental. Other agencies try to low ball me. My assignments are usually 3 months. I extended at my current assignment and it's been 6 months. We electric charting at all the facilities that I've been

Any excelsior grads who travel
@citimedic if excelsior grads can't be endorsed in Cali how did you work there? Did you become endorsed before they made these strict rules?

Any excelsior grads who travel
That's right higher cost of living, there are other places that have the same climate has cali. It's not about it being cheaper. I travel and I don't stay in one location to finish a degree. I don't want to stop traveling for 2-3 years to get my degree. Excelsior let's me work and go to school. I don't plan to move to California. I live in MY and when I decide to stop traveling I will stay in NY. So yes there's a possibility that I will limit myself.

Any excelsior grads who travel
Thank you Delynn for your response. I could 2 caps about not traveling in the state of California but for some reason people think that's all that matters.
- Excelsior Grads - Where are they now?

verbal contract with American Mobile Nursing
Sorry I didn't read all the responses. You don't have to accept it. What they will do is black list you from working with any sub company under the AMN umbrella. They did it to me 2 years ago.

Is traveling REALLY all that AND SOME???!!
I wouldnt say traveling is all that, but its super fun and I love it. Someone said it best if you cant stay in one place then travel is good for you. I take my family and I get my own housing and pocket enough money to live comfortable as a lpn

Any young african american travel nurses?
The test for Texas endorsement isn't hard. Don't waste your money for the extra programs to pass it. All the answers are on the BON website.

Davita vs Fresenius
Pt's coding isn't a everyday thing in dialysis. It happens from time to time and you call 911 and perform CPR. They are never doa at the clinic. Most places your covered under malpractice. Unless you do something to cause them to die like put bleach in their system you shouldnt get sued

I have been thinking about being a traveling nurse. Is it worth it?
- Fellow Travel Nurses
I think just about any state has nicer people then NY. My experience with Texas was a in your face sorta racist place. In NY I've never had a latino call me the N word, but Texas they called me it to my face. In a way that I guess was suppose to be a compliment like I live N's- Specialty question
Im constantly seeing psych lpn travel jobs available. FYI Texas is huge on prisons and needing corrwctions nurses if interested.- Why do you love Dialysis?
Same here I always come back to dialysis. I love sticking people!- Favorite cities/locations you've traveled?
As a LPN my bring home is $1300/WK. With rental car paid for. I enjoy it and am able to pay bills and I also bring my 3 children and my mother. It all depends who or what company you work for. I get my own housing cause its cheaper.- LPN Travel
@ Simba&Nelson, No I didnt have any corrections experience before traveliong. The place I went to had a dialysis center and I have Dialysis experience.- Favorite cities/locations you've traveled?
I agree with the above posts. I am a single mother of 3, I'm 28 and usually I take my mom and my children with me. I'm in texas as a traveling LPN and I came because my daughter wanted to come here. My family tries to tell my mother to tell me to settle down in one spot and not travel. I've tried and I'm miserable when I stay home. I love the adventure of traveling, but I hate the first 3 weeks of being the kid on the block. My new battle/adventure is getting my RN on the road and continue to work. If I can figure how to do both then I will be truly blessed- LPN Travel
Congratulations!!!! I'm in huntsville Texas at a state prison. I've been doing this for 2 years off and on and I love traveling.- Travel dialysis nursing
Fresenius is hard to reach even if you work for them and is trying to travel or transfer. They pay biweekly compared to weekly with some outside agencies.- LPN Travel
