  1. I just found out today that the co-worker that I am training is making more than $5.00 per hour than me. I have equal years of experience but I have work in more acute setting, I have higher education plus I speak another language. I save a lot to the facility because I do not use translator. I love my job and I have been working there for five years. What would you do in this case? You just let it go and pretend that you do not or you try to set up a meeting with HR? If the second option is chosen how the meeting should be address. Any ideas? I will appreciate. Thanks

  17. Hi everybody: I work in a 5 stars LTC facility in a Dementia Unit. I work 7-3 shift full time and every other weekend . Well, I having problems with lack of staff in my weekend to work, the other units are well staffed with regular staff, so no body understand what I am experiencing. I have no regular staff and every weekend work with different CNA'S from agency, they come 1 or 1 1/2 hour late and sometimes do not show up at all. It is horrible because from 7 am to 8 am or 8:30 am I am by myself trying to prevent falls because residents want to get up at the same time and I do not blame them that is the time they regularly get up for breakfast. Also, at the same time I am trying to do my med pass, checking BS administering Insulin, etc. Well, I have talk to management hundreds of time about that problem and they reassure me that they are working on it "We do not want you to leave". I have been working in this facility for almost two years and always the same problem. So far, I have been able to manage this situation keeping everybody safe, but I am afraid one day I will not. I am thinking in write a letter or send an Email to management to have proof that I have expressed my concerns about the situation. I would like to know your opinions. Thanks.

Hi everybody: I recently bought a new pair of sketchers shape-ups. I love those shoes they are very comfortable and good looking. I stand on my feet all shift. I used said shoes one day but at the end of my shift I got a horrible sharp pain in my lower back I almost cry and it lasted for about 3 weeks. Has anyone experience this problem with this kind of shoes? Currently I am looking for the best shoes to work that do not bother my lower back. Thanks in advance.
  23. Please can you tell us more about your med pass. My med pass is unfriendly. Thanks.
