1. Which is harder - A&P I or A&P II?

Dang! I wasn't going to say anything, but I took A&P II in 5 1/2 weeks. I got the usual "A", but I'm telling you nursing school is different. I get "B 's" now and I'm working harder than I ever did. Study hard!
2. Which is harder - A&P I or A&P II?

Welcome to the jungle! :) Flash cards, coffee and quiet are your friends.
3. No heavy chem! And that was only if your experience was limited like my own. Good luck and I know you will succeed!
4. I did the same thing just to see what I was getting into. As a matter of fact, that's how I found allnurses.com. If you're really motivated and want something to do, get a book on introduction to chemistry (if that's an area you don't have much exper...
5. The most important thing about A&P? I would have to say learn it well and give it your all, because there isn't enough time in nursing school for more than a quick refresher when tackling the copious reading. They assume you know it and you'll ha...
6. Fake Swine Flu vaccine and medication warning

May 1, 7:26 PM It didn't take long for scam artists to start cashing in on the Swine Flu craziness. Today the federal government released the alert below warning there's NO vaccine, cure or medication for the virus and if someone tries to sell you ...
7. Which is harder - A&P I or A&P II?

A&P II seemed easier, but I think that's because learning how to study for A&P was a constantly evolving process in A&P I. I finally found an efficient and effective way to do it by the end of the term - and carried that into A&P II.
8. WHO raises swine flu pandemic alert to phase 5

No vaccine has been developed yet and it appears to have spread to new locations by travel. Mutated strains are a big concern too.
9. WHO raises swine flu pandemic alert to phase 5

I can see how that read and apologize for my apparent lack of compassion. Triage nurses will be challenged to identify acuity if they are inundated. The potential problems worry me.
10. WHO raises swine flu pandemic alert to phase 5

14 mins ago GENEVA - The World Health Organization has raised its pandemic alert for swine flu to the second highest level, meaning that it believes a global outbreak of the disease is imminent. WHO says the phase 5 alert means there is sustained hum...
11. Hello fellow nursing students! We had an assignment for fluids & electrolytes and I drew hypermagnesemia - I know, vanilla. Anyhow, I just got the grade back............100% from this presentation.
12. My first 100 in nursing school - ain't gonna' happen again

This is fantastic! I'm gonna' Tom Cruise this in the mirror later.
13. My first 100 in nursing school - ain't gonna' happen again

That would be great, please do!
14. Bedbaths and Bedmaking

Our first clinical rotation was LTC and the skills labs were focused on basic client care at that time, so we did a lot of baths, ADL assistance and bedmaking then. I haven't done much of that since. 0630-1330 is like most of the others for me, alth...
15. Students that cheat

This isn't advice, but an example of another way of looking at it. Have I turned in a cheater? Yes, in a heartbeat. Why? Because I don't want them in the same pyxis as me. They've demonstrated they are more than capable of being deceitful. This only ...

17. quickest Route to a RN

Respectfully, this was 22 years ago. All of my instructors are masters level and my A&P professors (2) are PhD's. The pass rate I referred to was NCLEX, not course. I would love to take an NCLEX from 22 years ago, but that isn't an option. I woul...
18. quickest Route to a RN

Going to sneeze?
19. quickest Route to a RN

If you have never taken college courses, expect a year and a half, at least, to finish prereq's as a full time student before entering an 18 to 24 month ADN program. Have excellent grades! With the economy the way it is, the competition will be great...
20. Ineffective Tissue Perfusion

Just a quick thanks, Daytonite, for all the advising you do here on AN. People like yourself make this place the valuable resource it is.
21. Stupid question about RN to BSN programs

I think you're going to have to get the prereqs out of the way first. You might want to contact the bridge program in which you'll be applying to make sure the classes are transferable (say, from the nearest community college). I think an appointment...
22. Keiser vs. BCC for Nursing Program in Space Coast??

The BCC Palm Bay program is only in its third year and has straightened out many of the initial problems. The points system is pretty fierce and it's possible to get in with 25 points, but you'll get points if you had direct patient care/contact at y...
23. Given credit for A&P II , should I take the class????

Nursing school is challenging enough as it is without adding potential knowledge deficits. I would audit, ask to take tests and challenge yourself just like a credit class. You'll need what is taught in A&P II, I promise.
24. New Male Nursing Student....

Just a quick note on the psych class. Maslow and Erikson are prominant in nursing classes.
25. You know you are a CNA when....

...or when the gravy stain on your scrubs is really gravy...sorry, but I do eat every once in a while.
