  1. Her posts helped me tremendously when i was in "scary" med-surg class. When i passed Nclex-RN she was the first person who came to mind when i was thanking Allnurses.com for helping me through nursing school. She will be missed. RIP
  2. Graduated in Dec 09, Passed nclex on March 10 2010. Started my new RN job in May my first pay check was sure YYYYAAAYYYYYY. big difference between 15/hr and 40/hr. I did thank GOD the almighty for his Grace. My thought was that all those sleepless nights were so worth it.
  3. I graduated in Dec 09, passed the NCLEX in March. I'll start my first rn job in May. I did not go to HR with my application, i went directly to the Nursing department and was lucky enough to get hired.
  4. @ lauranelli, if you get the "good pop up" you'll be all right. This was the only thing that kept me going the last two days until i've got the quick result. this trick does work. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TOO.
  5. The trick did work for me. I've got the good pop up a couple of hours after my exam (March 10), i just checked quick result and YES I PASSED. I am a RN. Now i can get some sleep. I want to thank everyone on this site. I've been getting advices since Med/Surg when i had doubt about being successfull. ALL NURSES.COM ROCKS Now i have to go beg for a job. lol
  6. @ Trec96, I too took my exam in NYC yesterday morning. The result should be up by tomorrow morning. My test stopped at 75 questions and i almost had a heart attack. I did the PVT i've got the good pop up. this is the only thing that keeps me going. I keep checking every now and then, still get the good one. I keep my finger cross. Just so you know, you are not alone. We'll make it.
  7. I took the exam yesterday. stopped at 75 questions and I was literally in shock. I've finally got the courage to check PVT and the good pop up showed up. I checked last night before I went to bed (even if i didn't get to sleep). First thing this morning i checked to make sure that it will still show up, it did. Now i am waiting for tomorrow to check the official result.
  8. Took my test this morning 8:00am. I felt so horrible but PVT gave me some hope by decreasing my anxiety. i've got the good pop up. Really hope it's good sign
  9. i hope it works, i just tried, i think i've got the good pop up.
  10. Yes i have quick result in NY. 48 hrs still seems like an eternity to me.
  11. just took my exam, stopped at 75 questions. this is killing me, i feel so horrible, don't know what to think. Don't even have the gut to try the trick.
  12. Thanks, i'll definitely use this.
  13. Congratulations I will take my nclex in March and i still don't feel prepare

  15. Congrats my pinning ceremony is this week and don't know yet when i'm taking my nclex-rn give me some tricks guys CONGRATS on more time :yeah:
  16. Thanks everyone for sharing your Brain sheets. I will start my preceptorship this week in ICU and feel so excited. I'm graduating this december and cannot wait. AllNurses.com has helped me during this long journey, I know it's not over yet but it's almost OVER. Thank you
  17. i will start my clinical rotations in Med-surg, Peds and OB next week also. I'm very excited and cannot wait to sart. at the same time i have doubt as far as my clinical skills and what exactly to expect from everything and everyone(instructors, patients, nurses etc..). But I do keep a positive attitude because i am ready to work hard and prove to myself that I can do it. I had an instructor who used to tell us: "millions of people have done that before you, there is no way you cannot do this if you want to". I keep this saying in mind everytime i have doubt about my capabilities. At the end of the semester you and I will tell everybody "we did it!!!!". Good luck
  18. Congrats girl, my next exam is renal you just give me some idea thanks
  19. I know i didn't put enough information but your posts help me figure out what exactly i have to do to complete my care plan. the reason why i wanted to include risk for decreased cardiac output is because pt has low hgb and hct. pt has hypothyroidism, weakness, anorexia, constipation, weight gain, cold intolerance HR = 45bpm; low hgb level, low hct level, high cholesterol 240 mg/dl, I came up with 1) imbalance nutrition MTBR 2) constipation 3) fatigue 4) deficient knowledge 5) risk for decreased cardiac output I hope those diagnoses are right
  20. I am preparing a care plan on hypothyroidism. I do have 5 nursing diagnosis; 1) Fatigue 2)constipation 3)imbalance nutrition:mtbr 4)risk for decreased cardiac output 5)deficient knowledge however, i m not too sure about "risk for decreased cardiac output" I choose it based on low HR I also need to place them in priority order i feel like puting Risk for decreased CO first since it is cardiac related and can help prevent myxedema but also i do know it is a "risk" . It is not yet a real problem. Please HELP
  21. Hi everyone, I am taking Med-surg. I think I'm dying. Is study hard but still I just had my grade for my first test i didn't pass. The Prof. told me not to worry but I am worried. Can anyone pleasegive me some advise on how you made it thru Med surg. Thank you
  22. I used to work as a CNA some years ago. I will never forget, one day i was providing AM care to a resident and was talking to her at the same time. You know things like "how did you sleep? are you cold? do you have any pain". Another CNA came over to me and had the nerve to tell me "Girl you have nothing better to do, you're wasting your time talking to the patient, just do what you have to do 1 2 3 and move to the next one. Then she went down the hall telling her friends about me "wasting time talking to the old woman". And guess what? the other morons were laughing at what she was saying. At lunch hour i had the opportunity to tell them what i had learned when i was getting my training and i do feel and know that what i did was the right thing to do and i will keep doing it.
  23. As Mama2jandc said "sometimes a student got a bad grade so they are slamming the teacher". i had to take a foreign as a pre req i checked the site and what they said about the prof that had was horrible. However, she was not bad. some students just want a good grade and don't want to work for it. i went to the class did all my assignments on time, participated in class. at the end i had a nice "A". you are already in the class, just do what you have to do. You can do it.
  24. Hi everyone, I need some advice. I will take med/surg (theory) started next week and i am a little anxious about it. Mostly because i heard so many things about the course. I've been to med/surg unit during my assessment course, but i know definitely it is not the same thing. I am normally a good student, however i really need to hear from people who had already experienced the course. I need you guys to advise me on what i will need beside the required books for the class and other materials. Thanks
