  1. Thanks guys. My manager keeps saying she is going to send me to a larger hospital to train but she just keeps putting it off. There are a couple other girls that started right before me and they feel the same way. I think we just really need to keep on insisting that they send us. They did send us to that conference in Dallas, Tx. I didn't help me....
  2. So I live in a small town and I have been working ob for a year and a half at the tiny hospital in my town. We only do about 10 deliveries a month. I don't feel like I am getting good experience. We do everything at my hospital...NBN, PP, L&D. There is usually only 2 nurses a shift and we do our own ER checks. I thought it would be good to start slow and really learn it but at the same time i am not getting any experience. I am now in the "charge" position (which I didn't want but was forced upon me)..and it scares me to death! What should I do.....
  3. my loan is about 25,000-30,000 and i went on their web site (the people i got the loan through...thestudentloanpeople) and i found a program where they pay off my student loan in 5 years as long as i am working as a nurse in my state. i too have to make payments but they will make sure 20% of my loan is paid each year. it is great! i would look into your loan further and see if they have a program like that. for my loan forgiveness..i simply had to fill out an application with proof that i am working as a nurse.
  4. well, I graduated last month and am going to be starting my new job as a OB/MED-SURG float. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I am especially nervous about training in OB. I didn't get too much training on it in school and just seems like the training process may be weird! Anyway, I am also nervous about starting med-surg. I didn't love it in school but have been advised by experienced nurses that a year of med-surg would be good for me. I know it will, but I don't want to hate it pulling out of the gate. I guess I am looking for encouragement that it will all be OK...thanks
  5. Yes, I took the Hesi about a month ago and passed the NCLEX about 2 weeks ago. (the NCLEX is easier than the HESI). That Hurst review really was great for the HESI....I would recommend it. That is what I continued to study for the nclex as well.
  6. I used the Hurst DVD review. It costs like 275 dollars but helped with my Hesi and Nclex exams. She brakes everything down really simple and some things she talks about are the very questions on the hesi. I listened to the dvd's until I could quote them and it was great for me. hope that helps.
  7. Thanks for the replies! I got my results and I passed:yeah: I am so excited !
  8. I have been told there are serveral levels of questions on the NCLEX......strange.....to me they were all crazy hard. I took my exam on saturday and am waiting for my quick results. Actually, I know there were some easy questions but for whatever reason I went blank. I got 102 questions and felt miserable when I got done. I am keeping faith that I passed...God can do anything!!!
