Of course RNs can work the floor in a nursing home. The last 6 places I ran (I travel) preferred to have RNs since it boosts the 5 Star rating.

You shouldn’t have lost your job over this. DNSs are leaving the industry in droves and being treated in this way certainly isn’t going to help

I've run into a few docs like that-and NPs too. I just tell them I'm following policy, protecting my license, and suggest they protect theirs. Then I ask them to repeat what they said so I can accurately get the quote for my nurse's note.

No SNF I’ve ever worked in had had N95 masks. We have stopped allowing visitors, check residents’ temps twice a day and employee temps when they arrive at work. Only one confirmed case in my county as of yesterday.

We order as many masks from our supplier as we can every week. I’ve got them locked in my office. We’re stocking up on yellow gowns and buying extra gloves too. A few years ago there was a shortage of masks during influenza season.
