  1. itsme posted a topic in Ob/Gyn
Hi! I dont know if this is the right place to post this? Anyone know much about this, or ever had it done? What is your experience, good or bad? This is what my Gyn is recommending for me, and I am jsut curious! Thanks!
  2. How can someone legally work a 20 hour shift? Isnt that considered at the very least unsafe?
  3. itsme replied to winky's topic in General Nursing
i dont have too much to add, except 10 months ago i was hit bya driver under the influence. We try to instill to our teenage drivers not to drink and drive- perhaps adults need a refresher in that too? No sympathy from me. Even if the other peoples injuries are only minor, they will have nightmares and a changed life. I wish the people you hit good luck.

  5. Well, at least if you do not pass, you still can be a doctor!!!! :)
  6. My son has been riding a dirt bike since he was 9. He has all the protective gear. He has some friends that do moto cross. I wont let him race but he does go on the motocross tracks.
  7. Took my hubby in one time- he was coughing up frank blood. The new doc said " your tonsils are swollen" He hasnt had tonsils since he was 13 years old!! He told her that and she promptly turned beet red and said "I meant your tonsil area". He then asked for a different doc to check him out.
  8. Well, my number 1 is Docusate! 2. multi vitamin 3. xanax 4.lasix 5. digoxin
  9. My advice would be to get caller ID and not accept any of her calls. Also, dont you think a DON of a healthcare facility has more important things to do than get involved with some petty childish "phone tag" between two girls, or women acting like girls, over there boyfriend? The whole "I'm telling on you" thing is sort of junior high type of stuff. Time to grow up. As for the other one getting fired and being in debt and worried about getting unemployment garnished, how about if she puts all the energy she is wasting in worrying into looking for a job. Sounds like maybe someone wants a free ride???? Whatever....
  10. I took boards in Minnesota, and live and work in Wisconsin. That was quite a few years ago, i only applied for a WI license at that time, but it was closer for me to go to Minneapolis than anywhere in WI to sit for the boards. Good luck on the test!!

I dont get how if she was so very busy the other ones had time to sit around. They couldnt find anything to do????? She should never have walked off, but i would have been a bit ticked if i was working and everyone else had time to sit and chat.
  12. this thread is old- I wonder what happened to the op??
  13. Did you sign this statement or was it falsely signed? What all are they accusing you of? And why would so many people want to testify against you? Sounds like something isnt quite right there, I would ask the people in the legal nursing section of this BB. good luck to you, hang in there!!
  14. you got incarcerated for not renewing tags on a car that wasnt even yours? That seems odd. Hopefully all will go well with school.
  15. Smoking in a bed??? fire hazaard!!!
  16. the cartoonist probably wasnt a nurse, but to have that in there is inappropriate. It ranks right up there with people saying "Oh, here is the mean nurse with your icky pills" Ya, try to get a confused person, or little kid to take there meds then!! Some folks just dont know when to shut up or to keep there cartoons to themselves!!!
  17. I would also make sure they stop taking the money out of your check if it is supposed to be parking fee, and you cant park there anymore!
  18. Do lpn's get paid what they deserve? Well, I feel I do!! I make just under 20$ per hour, I work in a union facility where the pay is good and seniority counts too!!
  19. I was thinking the same thing... Lots of questions about nurse/criminal...
  20. This thread turned into something that should be in the humor section on here! It is one of the funnier things I have read!! Long live peri-care!!!!!
  21. I think this smoker vs. non smoker thread is almost as entertaining as the Rn vs Lpn threads. Cant we all just get along!!!!!!
  22. I just think that respect is something that is earned, not a given. No matter what your degree. I am an LPN, I know my scope of practice, and I do my job well. I have EARNED respect from coworkers, I did not just assume I would get it.
  23. You gotta be kidding, you had to make the guy milk shakes and change the vcr movies. That poor guy- I bet he was framed, just like all the other ones!! I would have told them that milk shakes wasnt in my job description, and neither was vcr movie changing. I could ramble on and on about this, but I will spare all of you!!!! Froggylegs, I do give you and all the other corrections nurses so much credit- you do a job I could never do, and I think you gotta have a lot of guts to do it!! My hubby works in corrections, so I hear things from him too. You all are way braver than I!!
  24. why in the heck would they call a prison "honor farm". And who was the wacko that thought up that name?
  25. I have my navel peirced, 2 in one ear and 3 in the other. The first place I walked into to get my navel done had a sign hanging up that said "if you wash it, we can peirce it". they even had a photo album of what they have peirced- it was then that i realized I lead a very sheltered life!! Needless to say, I didnt get my peircing there, the place i went to was actually a clinic like setting, and after I Informed them I was a nurse and checked out how they steralize everything, then I got it done!! I have never had a problem with it and have had it about 5 years.
