:uhoh21: hello everyone...no nothing has happened yet. thanks to evveryone for your thoughts. yes i am still working, and this all happened with a previous employer. a doctorsoffice in which they hired me while i was still in school & knew that, although they were trying to say differently. i made a mistake. i knew i wasnt i had no lic, i wrote rn after on some of the charts which was enetering info like, renewed refill of abx thru cvs, etc....in which everyone else in the office had done as well, even the ladies that answered the phones. it wasnt right at all it was a mistake but also it was very few times, honestly most of the times i just wrote my initials. my mistake was just he letters, i certainlly knew i couldnt practiceas a rn....& they knew as well as hospitals i had interviewed at all knew i had no lic yet. believe me i just want to get this over with & my attorney does too.....hopefully everything will work out good, thats what i am praying for.but believe me, now, i ask too many questions before i do anything!!!!!...take care & i will let everyone know what happens.......

ooohhh and yes You misunderstood what I said about the licensed part. I know there is not something called a Lic. Regi. Nurse.....an Lic'd practical Nurse , yes all I meant was we were not Lic'd

disciplinary nightmare
here in NJ....you can work as a GN,their called nurse externs, but they cannot pass meds, start IV's or anything. your pretty limited to what they can do. At least that's how it is where I work and in many hospitals in the surrounding hospitals and yes my school was accredited. thanks!

also....I'm not expecting to get away from my mistake scott free. Yes everyone should pay for thier mistakes, but mine was certainlly not intentional... i know i keep saying the same things over and over to everyone. who reply's thank you to all for your support and responses and for the avdvice as well. happy holidays to all & talk to ya all soon.....................

again to everyone thank you for your input..its nice to hear from your peers. I posted my discussion on this board and knew i would get both positive and negative feedback, which is understandable I also understand that some of you pretty much think I am a moron or something. I understand the mistake I did was wrong. i was honestly misunderstood. and for that im truly sorry, but unfortunately i cannot change the past only learn and live on. I knew I couldnt go out and get a job in a hospital until I received my license. and certainlly could not pass meds, give shots, educate patients and start IV's etc and so on like I do now. I honestly thought we were RN"s once we graduated, but we were not Liscensed Registered Nurses. Thats where my confusion came in. the only other thing, In my defense, I never practiced as an RN in that job. There is a big difference in that job to where I am now. I did the same job as all the other medical assistants and non-medical individuals.

the reason I hired an attorney is becuase this is a big deal ro me and my Nurse Manager at my job suggested I do....She is a Nurse Attorney and deals with the BON all the time and talks with these people everyday.

1 st Thanks to everyone for your answers, help & support...... I honestly made a mistake. It wasnt to gain anything...My job was not in jeopardy, it was nothing like that.....I didnt impersonate myself to pt's that way. I was really misunderstood. m really not trying to make an excuse but I had had My daughter 1/2 through the final semister. she was born inoctober , In which I had had a terrible birth & emerg C-section....maybe my head was in the clouds after having her...I dont know I wish I could have realized, but unfortunaltely I didnt. I worked the same as the medical assts in that job. There was 2 other nurses there , that were lic'd & they started IV's & did pacemaked checks & asst'd with the codes...I neverr did any of that. How it was signed was like this " s/w with Charlie Brown...labs reviewd) rosie posie rn....Also afetr the md had reviewed it & made his comments on the lab sheet. Also the medical assts made the same & more money than I did. This ex-employer is just retailating against me. I month after I filed papers to the labor board....they file against me? which not to mention ws 4 months after I had quit....this ex-employer, (its really the office manager)....is a liar & is very very deceptive. Just for laughs to let you all know....Right now they are being audited by medicare for he 3 rd time for improper billing. He's facing loosing his lic to practice with mediacre pt's for 2 years......Im just trying to give you a picture about them....

disciplinary nightmare
my former employer wrote a complaint about me to them, because of 2 reasons. 1. i had to contact the labor board to get my final paycheck...(it took 4 months) 2. the office manager wrote a complaint about me in complete retaliation...although shes claiming that she though I had passed my boards which is a complete lie...

hi...I thought we were Registered Nurses, just not Lic'd......I know it was a stupid mistake, but at our graduation, we were given pins that said RN......and as to my status at the time....i hadnt' passed my boards...I Had no licsence. I didnt get my lic until 3/03....this all took place before. ......Thanks for replying....

disciplinary nightmare
hello....I am looking for some light at the end of my tunnel. I am going infront of the BON in Jan 04". what had happened was before i had my licsence, while i was working in a MD's office , I wrote RN on some of the charts after my entries of contacting pt's with the results of labs and so forth after the MD would review them. I honestly did not know. I just thought you weren't liscensed and certainlly could not perform as a Nurse. Not to mention I did nothing that a nurse would do. I have hired an RN atty (which is so costly) and she really hasnt said much (nervewracking). I'm just so worried and confused. This all happened when I had no lic. now they want to take my lic away for 2 years!!!! please someone give me advice or try to calm me & im going out of my mind. Also, if anyone could tell me wha t this is going to be like at the hearing that would be great too....Thanks for anyones help...I will be soooo grateful....
