if anything the view should be cancelled because its just a bunch of old hags complaining about irrelevant stuff and bullying. who needs that kind of negativity

until you feel comfortable, you have to let your preceptor or nurse manager what your comfort level is , if possible you could ask for more precepting shifts or when you are off orientation, be scheduled to work on days/nights a preceptor works so when u have questions u can ask them. but all your peers are a resource, dont be afraid to ask for help :)

nursing school was hell, everyday. like, i quit school every day i showed up, i verbalized it i made it known. I also had classmates who felt the same way you do right now. But, the most important thing is to get support, and the help you need. Take care of yourself & you have 9 months to go!!! youre almost there..even if u have to go part time, do what it takes get thru it move on :) and you def. dont have to work bedside. I work in airmedical transport and only see hospital beds when i drop off and pick up patients. you definitely have other options besides what you see in ur clinical rotations :)

its too bad that they havent done anything in those 3 months to make things better for you

lol. they let every tom dick and harry off the street w/o verifying that they have a flu shot or tell them they have to wear a mask its "suggested".. therefore if u dont want the shot, dont get it. and dont wear a mask if u dont want to. besides the flu mutates so rapidly its hard to keep up with it.

#1 you caught a potential huge med error. SO good job with that. Thank you for paying attention and taking that seriously. #2. if everyone stayed late to do things that the on coming nurse is more than capable of doing, there would be no point in handing off. BFD.. you were busy with more pressing things. The IV will get changed, and the picc line dressing..ugh whos to say the patient wasnt messing with it or it peeled in their sleep. you cant control everything! #3. the girl you handed off to sounds like she hates her job, based on how u described her behavior. her inattentiveness and rudeness wasnt necessary. dont sweat this stuff... use it as experience and move on. its ok to cry. if you feel like u need a bit more orientation. ask. it will keep u sane and your patients safe :)

i can do my NP curriculum completely online..thats crazy. i had no idea!

when i worked in the hospital i had a clipboard that i had it on , or i would have a bunch of little cheat sheet resources inside the clipboard. but the sheet. its where id scribble notes , have the med times etc etc & thats easier to shove in my pocket while im trying to keep a pt from falling. :)

have you considered going into ER or ICU as a new grad since you are trying to obtain critical care certs? some people truly love M/S and they go and get their CMSRN cert or PCCN cert. you seem like you are going in the other direction. :) give it a shot. apply for the ER/ICU jobs.. or even something like CV stepdown. i wouldnt try to get CCRN,TNCC, until you have some RN experience. some of that crap will just zoom right over your head and you want to thoroughly apply the knowledge you gain and the concepts not just "pass a test" for a piece of paper :)

lol one hospital i worked at they coded a guy--- not until the charge went and got his chart, theyre like oh-- hes a DNR..stop cpr. (how the RN who had him didnt know this..idk ) but this is why i ask. it sucked having to tag and bag that guy with crushed ribs who didnt really need that intervention. i work fixed wing now, so i have a pretty good relationship w/ my pilots that i can say..um hey guys we need to divert, pt status declining or whatever. i didnt get a chance to look over the article. but its good to know. I will tell the FA that pt is critical and let them do the talking because god forbid we talk to the godly commercial pilot.lol. i mean they are in charge of the plane. if they want to fly a meat bird around all day more power to them lol

IV sticks Also, just generally caring for and soothing the patient. very satisfying. Ill agree, washing their face and brushing their hair made them look better and not so sickly

im in the same boat. im currently a flight RN, (with my BSN) but the schedule, the hours, etc. I need a change. I dont want to go back to bedside. Id like to get my NP, but my current schedule wont allow regular days off that i could do class & clinicals. Any suggestions as to what areas I can go into would be appreciated. :)

im late to the party but: A- do we know if this person was DNR or not? maybe they took something and wanted to die flying over the atlantic who knows B- besides that fact. I would provide high quality CPR ,attach AED.. advise pilot flight needs to be diverted first, and call for online med control if there is medications that need to be given until we land and hand off to EMS waiting on the other end. god forbid someone wants to sit and calculate a way to give 1:1000 epi in place of 1:10,000 epi. eww.

mine used to look like absolute rubbish when i was done with my shift, even now flying- i keep a sheet with me with all my info in one of my leg pockets. sometimes its just needed :)..

thats right. lol. we can cite the hell out of an APA paper too!... ive always said that i envy my ADN counterparts in their > hands on training , we are bookworms. (if talking education wise comparison on paper not individuals)
