1. hi telc. It's okay if the payment will come from your aunt in San Jose and mail it from there... So would you be using her address there or your Philippline address? If you placed your aunt's address in your application form, BON will mail all correspondence to that address. Please be reminded that all documents you've requested from school like TOR should be mailed from Philippines. Don't include it in your application packet because it has to be mailed separately. Apparently, it has to be mailed directly by your respective school to BON. Hope this helps. Happy New Year!
2. Hi Echota... I'm so proud and so happy for you!!! I really wish, it would be my turn to bring on the good news the next time :-) Will follow your advice:-) Congratulations!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
3. iww posted the wrong info... but here it is... The NCSBN retake policy allows candidates to retake their examination 45 days after administration of their examination. Candidates who have applied for licensure with a participating board of nursing will be permitted to take the NCLEX® examination eight times a year, but no more than once in any 45-day period, unless limited to fewer retakes by the desired jurisdiction of licensure. Note: The following boards of nursing do NOT participate in the 45-day retake period. Candidates are encouraged to contact these boards of nursing for their policy on NCLEX Examination retakes: Georgia-RN, Guam, and Washington.
4. oh hey... i've just seen this info about the retake policy The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) voted at its Dec. 5-7, 2006 meeting to raise the passing standard for the NCLEX-RN examination (the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses). The new passing standard is -0.2100 logits on the NCLEX-RN logistic scale, 0.070 logits higher than the previous standard of -0.2800. The new passing standard will take effect on April 1, 2007, in conjunction with the 2007 NCLEX-RN Test Plan. https://www.ncsbn.org/513.htm
5. sorry to hear that we had the same fate... we better go get into studying again and keep our focus on our goal :-) try to check NCSBN... about the 45 day rule .. God bless!
6. hi torque... have you started your application with CA BON? It would be best that you have applied for CA BON ( takes three months if you're from outside US) and have your eligibility letter prior to pursuing your plan. You may schedule to take your exam in US for as long as you have your eligibility letter and a valid visa. PM me at grace_0310 if you have your yahoo... :-)
7. HI JRC 21... which state are you from? Just sooo worried about my result... :-) hehe.. congrats!

Maybe i am just seeking somebody to comfort me... :-) again, i took mine last nov 29th in HK. i have SSN. but i don't have valid visa and im here in Phil... got that ssn years ago... :-) im nervous seeing results being posted like after 3 days in cali BON... have u seen your name posted already? thank you for your patience... Ms. new nurse!
12. Hi gracieeeee!!!!! congratulations!!!! Glad to hear another success story :-) when did you take your exam? i take mine last nov 29th... have my SSN... but got no valid visa as of the moment and i'm here in philippines . took my exam in HK... which is why my anxiety level is up... keep checking the website, and can't see my name posted... that would mean the downside eh??? want to know when you had your exam... has your name been posted in BON site? thanks... sooo much... again.. my congratulations! I envy you sisterrr!!!!
13. hi suzzane... good day... i would just like to inquire whether there is a possibility that a foreign graduate with valid SSN have his/her name published in the CA BON website even though I don't have a visa and is presently residing outside US? got my SSN 3 yrs ago...
14. Congratulations Murse!!! :-) Hey when did you take your exam? When was the results released? I envy you!!! Cheers!!!!!
15. Is it PN? or PHN? you may check it on this site: License Holders : it says there that the site is updated daily M-F... :-) just check your name... good luck and God bless...
16. hi! you only need one finger print card... if you've ordered from their site, it will be mailed to you in 2 weeks or so... (it can't be downloaded from the site) if you're from manila, you'll have to be finger printed in NBI, Sta cruz... they'll charge you P20/finger print card. you might want to have two copies in case something goes wrong with the other f-card. keep SSN - blank. only write info on blanks with x-mark... if such doesn't apply to you... just leave it blank. They would know you're foreign graduate since there is a part in the application where you'll be asked where you graduated, so you need not specify that you're a "foreign graduate". you may send in your applcation through snail mail... or if you have the money to send it through LBC, FEDEX or DHL... you may do so... provided that you use their overnight address: Board of Registered Nursing 1625 North Market Blvd, Suite N217 Sacramento, CA 95834 Phone: (916) 322-3350 yep.. include their phone number... air freight won't accept PO BOX address. As for the payment, you may either use US check or money order which you may ask from local banks. Just ask how it is done from your local bank. In case you have relatives in US, you may ask their help to pay for your application, that is slip in their US checks for your payment. If you prefer to ask for their help, then send in your applciation to them and let them mail the complete application to BON. Incomplete applications will not be entertained. It may take more or less three months ... before you receive the eligibility letter. As soon as send in your application, start your review :-) Hope this helps :-) Good luck!
17. got this from http://www.***********/healthcare/Exams/nclex.shtml "After you have answered the minimum number of questions, the computer compares your competence level to the passing standard and makes one of three decisions: One, if you are clearly above the passing standard, you pass and the examination ends. Two, if you are clearly below the passing standard, then you fail and the examination ends. Three, if your competence level is close enough to the passing standard that it's still not clear whether you should pass or not, then the computer continues to ask you questions. "Clearly" passing or failing is defined as when the "gray zone" around your competence level falls entirely above or below the passing standard. The gray zone is the region within which your competence level might vary if you answer more questions. The gray zone shrinks a little after each question because your competence level is based on more information. After each question, your competence level and the gray zone are recomputed, adding your new response to all of your previous answers. When the gray zone is entirely on one side or the other of the passing standard, you've clearly passed or failed and the examination ends. Of course, some people's competence level is very close to the passing standard. For some of these people, all 3,000 questions in the item pool still might not be enough to make it "clear" whether they should pass or fail. These are the people who take the maximum number of questions. At that point, the computer disregards the gray zone and simply looks at whether the final competence level, based on every question answered, is above or below passing. If you are above it, you pass. If not, you do not pass. " hope this helps ..... good luck...
