  4. I cant remeber all of your questions. I got into nursing because my wife said I would be good at it. I had military medical expierence so nursing courses were easy for me. I like the pay best. I do not like some family members and some doctors. Poop and puke are also turn offs. The work is hard but the rewards from my pts. are worth it. Plentyof demand in my area. Good luck.

  7. MY hospital is a magnet. The one day of the year that we have adequate staffing. We do not get extra pay foe certifications either. It means nothing for us nurses.
  8. You will still be 49 yrs even if you do not attend nursing school. The floors are very hard on your body. Although I do it 5 days a week and have a perfect attendance record every year. So yes it can be done at your age. I say go for it and good luck.
  9. I started going for a BS in healthcare Management I was within 3 credits of my degree when I swicthed to nursing. Great decision for me. Good Luck

  13. I'm sure you know this but you only get one chance to make a first impression. Apply for jobs you might enjoy. Dress for sucess at all of your interviews. Network with friends and family.Good luck.
  14. You could try a diferent career. or you could take your nurse training and work as a nurse. Try it you might like it.

    You most certainly do need a BSN before a nurse recruter will talk with you. Im a Navy veteran so I may be able to anawer some of your questions. I have heard that the Army reserves may take a ASN but thats just hearsay on my part. Email me if you like.
  23. I did nursing as a 2nd career and made a good choice. I am making a good salary with good working conditions. But all work places are not the same. Make sure you are comfortable working with and for women. Need more specific info send me an email.
  24. The nurse was correct nursing school will not prepare you foe the real world. When you get hired make sure you get an adaquate orientation. Like no less than 6 weeks. Good luck.
