  1. It's different everywhere, some places are very toxic work environments and others are fantastic. You might get along with 99% of everyone on the ward except your boss. It's really no different than any other profession in that regard. When in an online forum users have anonymity and will often behave differently than they would in the work place. Some subjects that people feel strongly about like politics and religion are discussed here whereas they are entirely inappropriate at work. If you reveal your political leanings at work, don't be surprised if you end up getting fired.
  2. They will wear a mask (incorrectly) ,go into the store and pay with the grungy keypad/card scanner and think they are safe! They don't social distance, wash their hands frequently, or not touch things they don't need to. The virus is not bad in my area by some miracle. People don't seem to care, but they will.
  3. The most common definition of trend is something that is increasing in frequency(as in statistics). Of course trend can also mean a fad as you pointed out. So yeah, I can see that. Perhaps a poor choice of words but essentially true using the most common definition. I guess it's a matter of perspective.
  4. Well if the BON did not take your license that is a good sign. Another good thing is the amount of time elapsed and the fact that you went through treatment. If you get an interview it will probably come up. You should be honest and admit it was a lapse in judgement but that you have been through treatment. They will probably take many things into consideration when making a decision. Given a choice between yourself and someone with a clean record, they may opt for the latter. Good luck.
  5. I don't view it as condescending. I don't think Emergent meant it that way. It is a trend ,however. https://www.gminsights.com/industry-analysis/sex-reassignment-surgery-market Nothing wrong with that.
  6. Perhaps they used OTC. https://www.everydayhealth.com/diabetes/otc-insulin-what-know-before-you-buy/#:~:text=OTC insulin is also called synthetic human insulin.,of NPH and regular called 70-30%2C says Trujillo. I was looking into reasons professionals lost their license. All sort of reasons were listed including armed robbery! It's sad how these individuals slip through the cracks.
  7. And did all those "developing countries" have massive riots and protests. Did they have a bunch of morons that went to the beach and Disneyland? Do their populations compare to the United States? So how well was it contained in Brazil, Russia, or India?
  8. Even if masks are not 100% they are better than nothing. I would be remiss if I was asymptomatic and killed an elderly person because I chose not to wear one. It is obvious we cannot stay in lockdown forever and need to take all precautions that are reasonable at this time.
  9. @herring_RN Of course, I too believe that we should wear masks. The reason I posted those stories is to show that Dr. Fouci has changed his advice from time to time. There are biased news sources all over the place, and many of them end up redacting stories because of outright lies. It is on both sides of the fence. It is very difficult to discredit a video of a person making certain claims, however. (although some have cut the videos short to keep in only what they wanted.) When Trump said we don't need to wear masks during that time it was because Dr. Fouci advised so, and yet there are people who claim it is all Trump. Yes masks were in short supply at the time, however, for Dr. Fouci to say publicly that they were not going to help was not the proper course of action. Both Dr. Fouci and the Trump administration have made some mistakes, but that should be expected because we have never been in a situation like this before. After all, hindsight is 20/20 right? A surgical mask will not keep an airborne virus out, but it will help keep infected individuals from coughing it all over the place.
  10. Is there ANY evidence that these stories are not true? I think you are just avoiding the facts to deflect because it does not meet your tiny view of reality. Why? because Dr. Fouci is perfect and can see far into the future right? It's a laugh that you claim my sources are biased when the lot of you cite biased sources. Oh but they tell the truth because they told me that.? Any attempt to show Dr. Fouci is not perfect is met with scorn. That is not the way of an science minded individual and is dangerous thinking. What's next, arrest anyone who disagrees with you? Dr Fouci HAS made some mistakes. It's not the end of the world because someone points it out. Don't so thin skinned.

Anyone with a functioning brain that can think for themselves should realize that no one is perfect.
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain_lobbyist_controversy I think they had to redact due to liability, it is true however.
  14. I can only imagine they would be upset if the hospital was a toxic work place to begin with. It never hurts to increase your odds. Good luck.?
  15. The important thing is that all viable research continues until there is a resolution. There were many prior studies by the Chinese that showed promise but many of those were lacking a control group or given in combination with other drugs and thus were disqualified. There was also a French study that had no controls and was also disqualified. There are still a large number of ongoing studies on HCQ because the verdict is not in yet in the scientific community. Most of the reports that it is a failure were by biased media groups. Many of the patients that had complications were given the drug late-term or had preexisting conditions. HCQ is no more dangerous than it was before this outbreak. https://hcqpetition.com/7-6-2020-EUA-Support.pdf https://aapsonline.org/letter-to-pres-trump-4-13-2020-4pm-b.pdf https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.26.20056507v1.full.pdf https://www.preprints.org/morificecript/202007.0025/v1 https://www.japi.org/v2c474c4/characteristics-treatment-outcomes-and-role-of-hydroxychloroquine-among-522-covid-19-hospitalized-patients-in-jaipur-city-an-epidemio-clinical-study https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.22.20040758v3 https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/05/02/pseudo-science-behind-the-assault-on-hydroxychloroquine/ https://www.redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2020/05/12/shameful-cnn-buries-very-important-details-from-new-hydroxychloroquine-study-attempt-dunk-on-trump/ https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?recrs=ab&cond=&term=Hydroxychloroquine&cntry=&state=&city=&dist=

  17. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04405076?term=NCT04405076&draw=2&rank=1 Phase 2 (current) has 600 participants enrolled.
  18. Might help to look at when this thread was posted. There was a shortage back then.?
  19. Did you even read the PDF? "On March 29, 2020, Vice President Pence sent a letter to hospital administrators across the country requesting daily data reports on testing, capacity and utilization, and patient flows to facilitate the public health response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Many separate governmental entities are requesting similar information, resulting in stakeholder requests to reduce duplication and minimize reporting burden. This document details the FederalGovernment’s data needs, explains the division of reporting responsibility between hospitals and states, and provides clear, flexible options for the timely delivery of this critical information. The objective is to allow states and hospitals either to leverage existing data reporting capabilities or, where those capabilities are insufficient, to provide guidance in how to build upon existing capabilities. These FAQs will be posted to the various HHS and HHS division websites, and will be as necessary." You are making some big unsubstantiated claims about why this is being done. But I guess you know more than everyone who is actually involved in this.?
  20. How do you know the CDC will be deprived of the data? I think the reason for the change is what is important. Most likely CDC does not have the resources that HHS has. The PDF states that it is to streamline access and prevent duplication.
  21. 1.) That first post was a month ago when we knew much less than we do now ,and was speculative in nature. 2.) Your petty insults are indicative of a shallow mind. 3.) Those "alleged clinicians" are more qualified than you in this subject and it was not promoted as a "save all".
  22. The data is being sent to HHS, not some "secret" Trump facility.
