I just started an IV therapy certification course. I'll be doing my first stick on a person during the next class. Doing it on the artificial arms was okay but it's a bit nerve-wracking thinking of that first human stick..... Just needed to vent.....
Can't help you there, sorry. It's a new school in the area. I would check in to its accreditation and to see if the credits will transfer if you choose to go on and get your BSN. There is one of the new schools around that offers the RETS tech progra...

Hi all. I am in my second quarter of the LPN-RN transition at Sinclair. I started working on my pre-reqs and co-reqs as soon as I finished PN school in Aug. 06 and finished all but one class before getting into the program and I took that one last ...

I started the LPN-RN transition at Sinclair in January. It took me 4 semesters to get in but I had pre-reqs to finish up which I did part time while working. I would recommend that anyone do it as once you get past the first half of the first quart...
I wouldn't take all of the message you replied to as gospel. I went throught the program at Laurel the year before this person. The instructors were wonderful and went out of their way to help if someone needed it (same instructors are still there). ...

It sounds like you had some of the same student issues that we did in my graduating class. I must agree, the program is great and the Laurel instructors are wonderful. I miss them.... wish I could get to Wilmington to visit but am working and tran...
We had it after we graduated in 06 but I believe they were making it a part of the curriculum after that. I went to Laurel and loved it. Am now transitioning LPN to RN while working part time.
I am an LPN working on my RN (ADN). The wait list for schools around here is horrendously long and having had my LPN and another degree meant it took less time to finish pre-reqs and I got into the program in 4 quarters going part time and working ...

One of my best friends has it and has for quite a few years. He's not been one of the fortunate ones though and has had a really rough course with it. I have chronic pain for other reasons so I can relate to a certain extent. It's good you caught ...
My daughter categorically refused to put the 'student driver' sticker on the car. I didn't push it as one coudn't see it well through the window tinting anyway and my other 4 kids did just fine without before they came out with them. Besides, she ...
Wow pageantnurse..... wish I had your job. I do agency and up until recently had a pretty steady, predictable schedule. Now I haven't worked in a couple of weeks. Fortunately I won't starve as my hubby has a good job but I would like to work. Wha...

I really don't have any words of advice to add as you have gotten great responses. I'm in my first year of nursing too and it can be intimidating. I do pediatric homecare and even it was ovewhelming at first. It just takes some time to get adjuste...

I don't know about this but when I was in the ER for a relentless migraine and severe back pain, one of the RT's, whom is also a massage therapist, gave me a migraine relieving massage. While it didn't take all of it away, it did help quite a bit. ...

How about Pseudomonas aeruginosa. I just finished micro and it was one of the ones we cultured. I found it interesting in its presentation: blue coloration and the grape smell. Most of the things we 'grew' smelled either weird or bad. P. aerugino...
#1 Ethics have nothing to do with opinions. Apparently the patient was yelling at personnel, in our country that speaks English, because the personnel didn't speak Spanish. I'm sorry but I'm sick of going to the store and the bank and being forced...

I started doing pediatric HH right out of PN school. My primary patient is quite involved (GJ, trach, bipap, etc.). Mom is only a phone call away at any time if something comes up. I may not be getting varied experiences of some of my classmates ...

It almost sounds as if you're planning on on either living with or staying with your boyfriend quite a bit in Canada. I don't think you'll have problems crossing the border. I think your biggest problem, if you are going to live in Canada and work ...

Not really. All I know is that the man it was named for was a signor of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and I believe the Articles of Confederation, one of only a couple people that signed all three. He was a financier of the Civil War ...
I'd never thought of that Jolie. I'll have to start doing it! uh, not the breast milk - the frozen foods..... Considering my youngest is 16, I don't think we have any need for breast milk at my house...lol

I hope this link works but this is the one I have. It's pretty roomy and is heavy canvas. I really like it. I do HH but work with the same patient on a regular basis so I just take it back and forth with me. http://www.allheart.com/ae101508.html
