  1. Hi. Our hospital helps Canadian Nurses with TN visas.
  2. That's bad. Starting salary here in Houston area is 26.00 for new grads plus differentials between 3-6.00/hour. My hospital always give bonuses for OT and other perks like movie tickets and dinner for 2. Pay raise is about 4.00/hour this year.
  3. From Philippines í ¼í·µí ¼í·
  4. UK is great but expensive. Life and work balance is great as you have loads of annual leave and sick pay. Proximity to other European countries is a plus- cheap european tour at your doorstep. I cant speak about NZ though. I lived and worked in UK for 15 years before moving to Texas for greener pastureí ½í¸
  5. Come to Houston as it has better pay (three times my income in UK) and good cost of living. Coming from UK, i dont want to live in east coast or up north. I got hired directly by my hospital and was grateful that they waited for me till I got my immigrant visa approval.
  6. Go and check with other BON. They are not as strict as CA.
  7. It is better if you work in suburbs or even in Midlands or up north. Pay is all the same for Bands except you dont get the London allowance and the fringe benefits is not that big. The rent and transport in London will eat up your money plus I dont want to live in London where it is so congested and fast paced. You can always visit London anytime for R&R as they have good transport system from north to south and west to east.
  8. I'm from Phil. and also worked in UK before coming to Tx. My original license was from AZ and endorsed it to Tx. Best way is to check with TxBON and clarify it with them. I think i did mine when I was already here in USA before the endorsement was granted.
  9. Bring your husband to USA as it is an easy transition for him instead of you doing all this RN transition. As a UK nurse, pay is not good even though I was in Band6/7 pay and workload was tremendous although you will get good holidays/sick benefits. Now that I am in TX, my salary has tripled and bought my own family home.
  10. Texas has a lot of RN jobs with good cost of living and good weatherí ½í±
  11. Since you are in Texas now, you can call Tx BON for more clarification.
  12. Germany as like any other European countries are good places for RN but in Germany you have to learn and master their language (i find it difficult) specially for medical terminologies. Not all Germans speak English even conversational English. Cost of living is also high and salary just enough which is comparable with UK. For US, RNs are compensated accordingly -cost of living and experience. As an RN in Texas, transition was not that difficult and sky is the limit for your salary.
  13. I have an aunt and other university classmates that are second courser (BSN as their 2nd course) who are happily employed in USA and UK.
  14. Check out Dominican university of California for international educated nurses EIN to top up your RN education from UK so you can qualify and take NClEX
  15. You can do Arizona or Texas BON. They don't require SSN and with regards to fingerprinting, I managed to do it in our local police department (I came from UK and did my fingerprinting in Surrey Police HQ).
