  1. WGU RN to BSN 2020

I just started on Feb 1st. If anyone out there has any tips...
  2. WGU FNP

I just read the job posting on their website. I am curious which states the program will begin in. It states eventually, the program will be offered nationwide. By the sound of it, this is just the beginning stages of it. I wonder when the FNP progra...
  3. Am I too old to become a nurse?

Not too old at all! I live by the mantra, “do what you can’t”. People will always tell you you can’t do something for one reason or another. I do it anyway. Good luck!
  4. New Grad Trying to Make a Decision

I would take the office job TODAY, and walk away from the LTC with my license still in good standing!! It will work with your school schedule and you will gain good experience. You are a new nurse, and more pay will come with more time and experience...
  5. While we were arguing; We disappeared

OP, Our hospital has color coded scrubs based on role - except physicians. They wear whatever. I find your speculation interesting that perhaps they are trying to disguise nurse:patient ratios! I would not have thought of that, but it seems plausible...
  6. How Do You Fit In 30mins Of Exercise In Your Work Day?

I always pack my own lunch, so I know I’m eating healthy. Plus, I’m saving money too! Win-win! I only exercise on my days off as well.
  7. LVN and Reclass in Army

You’re welcome! Let me know if you have any other questions. I do recommend the Charlie school. It is far better than any civilian program imo. You get a ton of clinical hours. Plus, it doesn’t cost you anything. I think I earned $60k while at Charli...
  8. HELP with Army Practical Nursing Specialist 68C

The Army Reserve holds about two-thirds of the Army’s medical personnel. She would have a better chance of getting 68C as a reservist. Then she can concurrently serve and pursue her BSN. That’s what I did. I would also recommend considering ROTC.
  9. LVN and Reclass in Army

I reclassed to 68C from 12N. There were a couple of LPN/LVN who showed up to phase 1 of 68C school, but did not have to go through the school. They were awarded the MOS, then sent off. Good luck!
  10. What's the BEST nursing shoes?

I wear Under Armour Valsetz RTS 1.5 tactical boots. They are lightweight, comfortable, offer great ankle support, and have lasted me a long time (~ 2 years and counting.) I recommend!
  11. WGU FNP

    What is your source please?
  12. WGU RN-BSN in 6 months

How much time per week did you spend on coursework? Did you take any time off or do six months straight through??
  13. Am I too stupid to be a nurse?

Have you considered working in corrections nursing? In my experience, it was not very stressful. It is a good setting to learn foundational skills like medication administration, EKG, assessments, etc.
  14. How Do You Fit In 30mins Of Exercise In Your Work Day?

Working night shift, I find I don’t have the energy to exercise before or after my shifts. I just try to workout on my days off.
  15. VA Outpatient Clinic Nursing-What to expect?!

My buddy works as an LPN at the local VA clinic. He says it is a cake job! Low nurse to patient ratio and excellent hours. Pay is going to be determined by your location (and experience.) He makes 55k as an LPN with about two years experience.
