Our governor has decided to lift all the state mandates re: mask wearing and business operating capacity.  Now we wait for TEA to decide how schools respond.

Im curious how Tea will handle this.  Kind of scary going right into Spring break.

Superintendent of my district to address Governor lifting the mask mandate. We will still be required to wear masks.

Our district is sticking to the communicable disease plan set out for this school year.

I am definitely worried about a possible surge in cases after Spring Break!

What in the world?!  I mean seriously. ? I am now concerned that Florida will follow suit...just as we are starting to see slight improvement.  I am really praying we will at least wait until after Spring Break.  Hugs and prayers for all you Texas nurses!

I am hoping all the district Covid protocals/policies including mask wearing remains the same until we get out in May.  Seems to me it would just be easier not to change anything, wait it out and see what happens in the next few months and make the changes if needed for the next school year.

My district is awaiting word from TEA and the health department before making any changes.

I am in texas, but thought the same thing about Florida. I am so disappointed in our governor, especially doing this during Spring break when we see a lot of travelers. Thankfully I think our school district will continue to require masks, but if students and their families are exposed everywhere else then I suspect we will see a surge here. JUST when things seemed more manageable. IMO this was his attempt to take the spotlight off the Winter storm energy crisis Texas went through recently.

How is it possible that the Governor would mandate this when just last month the CDC started recommending the benefits of wearing double masks? I don't understand his logic. Who is feeding him rubbish! I am in an area where Spring Break is highly celebrated by vacationing college students due to our beach. That means for about 2 weeks straight we have continuous large gatherings and huge parties on the entire island with people/college students from out of state and even out of the country. Now with everything opening 100% and them not having to wear a mask, I'm sure we'll have plenty of surges. God help us all.

I have seen no decrease or improvement in my school at this time. I have 4 cases and that is with in 3 days of returning from SNOVID. I hope the TEA continues to require mask because if not the will increase and so many kids will then be quarantined.
