Hi
What are 5 occasions where IV therapy needs two checker? i am almost finished on the training coursework, but am a community nurse so this would never get used!

in my hospital-
Magnesium, Insulin, Heparin, TPN (only if it has insulin in it)........ Maybe TPA is one? I'm not sure, since I've never given it.
We don't double check for any Diprivan or vasopressors though. Those 4 are the only ones I can think of.

We never check heparin, TPN or potassium with 2 ppl. We do check blood products with 2 nurses...

The only thing we double check are blood products and PCA syringes (on my floor, not sure about other specialty areas).

The only thing we double check are blood products, insulin, and chemo. Probably over half our patients are on TPN and we don't double check that.
