10 in 1 hour - the saddest, most pitiful faces EVER.
Those attempts at sad, pitiful faces always make me chuckle :) :) :)
Just saw one my Pitiful Paulines in class, made sure he saw that I saw he was fine and active in class

I've had 5... 3 of them before the day started. BUT I am in IDGAF mode and I'm just like "There's the phone, call home" If the parents want to pick up the snowflake, they can. I have other stuff to get done.

I've seen so many kids today, some legit sick, and seems like at least half the teachers partied too hard over the break and are all sick now.

I don't know who is worse after breaks, the kids or the teachers. I've had so many kiddos today that can't even give me a reason for how they got permission to come here.
....."I have to poop" is not a reason. My office bathroom is not the only bathroom here.

Pitiful kid: Mr. B told me to come down here to rest.
Me: Are you sick?
PK: No, just tired.
Me: Back to class...
PK: But Mr. B said!
Me: He's tired, too. If I hve to suck it up, so do you.
I love older teens.

I actually had to call the principal down here because a student would not get off my cot and go back to class. This is the same student with known stomach issues who "legit threw up this morning, call my mom" (not always as a reason to stay home for this student), offered me $5 to call his mom to come get him (had the money out and everything), took my adult Tylenol an promptly chomped right down on those puppies like they were Tums. Went over and got his Mountain Dew energy drink to wash the Tylenol down. And even though he "legit" threw up this morning, got the Mountain Dew Energy Drink, donuts AND gummies (gotta get the fruit in somehow!!) on the way to school. He was writhing a bit on my cot, so I let him sleep for about 15 minutes. When I woke him up he flat out refused to go to class. Said his stomach hurt so bad he couldn't move. Uh-huh. But you could sleep!! So I called the principal. The student got up and left pretty quick (it's a miracle- he can walk!!) once the big man got here.
Then I saw 7 kids in 20 minutes. Mondays after a vacation are "legit" awesome!!

Mine are being refreshingly honest.
"I really want to be in my house so that's why I came here."
"I didn't have school last week and I'm just really tired of school." (kid, nobody had school. You ain't special)
I am happy to be back, I had a ton of paperwork to do.
