Marijuana

how long does marijuana stay in your system if your not a chronic smoker? I have a friend who smoked a month ago and is scheduled for a drug test and is a little concerned.

He is a Nurse! If he refuses a drug test within 48 hours for a new job offer.. what happens?

I wouldn't as much refuse the drug test. Probably better to decline the job offer.

Marijuana stays in your hair for longer periods than urine and blood. My last employer gave me a 1 cm bald spot so that they could test for drugs. Is shaving a head an option?

Was "your friend" a daily smoker, or did they just partake one time at a party, etc.? I know plenty of nurses who smoke and then pass their drug tests, but they aren't blazing up a storm each and every night.

Am I the only one wondering, how people are smart enough to become nurses, but dumb enough to fail a UA?

Great advice on this thread! Hope it works out for your friend :). Home test kits are only fairly reliable... I had a friend test negative at home and fail the real deal.

If your friend works out, then it should be out of his system by now.

I have them use axillary hair.

Never refuse a pre-employment drug test. Respectfully decline the job offer. And just stop with the marijuana. Between pre-employment, random, just cause, the ramifications if caught are just not worth it.

Tell him to go to a lab and pay out of pocket (about $50) and get a personal test. They won’t know he is a nurse and therefore he won’t get reported if he pops positive. At least he will know if it’s out of his system or not.

If he has any chance of testing positive on a pre employment screen then he shouldn't do it. I've seen a few cases where employers do go ahead and report positive screens to the BON.

THC will most likely still remain in system even after a month if you are a chronic smoker.
