Late on interview.

I had the exact same thing happen to me recently. I left an extra hour early for a 90 min trip and my iphone literally took me to a shack. (I almost took a picture it was so comical.) The interviewer was extremely understanding and told me it had happened to other candidates before. I wish they had mentioned that when scheduling the meeting. They did offer me the position but it wasn't a good fit.

When I worked staff development if I came out of my office and called your name you weren't hired if you weren't there. An interview is supposed to be your best foot forward. If you show up late, in wrinkled scrubs, with orange hair what will you be like after probation ?

Dear Mr. Manager,

I would like to say that I am truly sorry for being late this morning. It was completely unprofessional of me, and it caused me to lose a potential chance to become part of ABC hospital and cause of disturbance to your schedule. I know that my actions constituted a gross negligence to my application process and affected my opportunity to work with ABC hospital. Please accept my apology for my actions and for the rest of the interview panel as well.

Please let me know by any chance, if I still able to go for next week interview. Thank you for the the time and consideration you gave me I really appreciate it.

Again, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

Being 2 mins late for an interview isn't a crime-it happens and it is unfortunate

I would still interview you and it wouldn't affect my decision-what is a problem is the fact you called and they refused to interview you, would you still want to work for somebody who was so inflexible?

It's no crime to be late. But, if I have 10 applicants for a position, why would I hire the one with poorer time management?

I have an interview next week. The hospital is an hour away, I plan on leaving 30 minutes early that way I can get there, find the hospital, find parking & where I am suppose to go to interview in the hospital. I'm not taking any chances.

That's so true. So nervous! I'm definitely leaving as early as necessary, I don't want to chance anything since it's my first interview in a while!
