How many nursing programs did you apply to before you were accepted to one?

I am thinking about applying to 3 nursing programs next year in case one or the other doesn't accept me. I was wondering if anybody has applied to multiple programs at a time or more than one program in general before they were accepted into a program? I am also casting my net out wide because the first three programs I am considering have different NCLEX pass rates, GPA requirements, and Teas score requirements that could change the out come of my application. What is your experience applying for and being accepted into your nursing program?:nurse:

Two; accepted at both. I chose the more local option. Both are deemed good programs and have a good rep so a shorter commute tipped the scales.

The local CC is about a mile away so I only applied at one. The next closest nursing school is about 35/40 miles..... no thank you. We get points for grades in core pre-req classes, prior degrees, CNA work experience, and a written essay. Got in the first time because I made sure to get As in the classes that counted.

I applied "officially" to three schools and was accepted at two. Really, there are many variables that come into play when deciding how many schools to send applications to: geography, financial considerations, your individual candidate attractiveness, etc. I have learned over the years to never put all my eggs in one basket.

One and got in. One semester left from graduating.

I had applied to 2. Got accepted to one and wait listed for the other. The one where I got wait listed was an 5 1/2 hr round trip one day a week program. I got accepted to the one that is closest to me, which was my first chioce.

I applied to two-one was for the school I took my pre reqs, another a 4year school I had no credits at. Got into first one. Then When I left that school, applied that same year to a different program, and got in.

One application to one school, accepted on first application.

I applied to a CC and a 4 year university. Got waitlisted @ CC and accepted to the university. I'm just a little over half way done.

I applied to only one school and was thankfully just accepted the first go around. It's nerve racking, though, putting all your eggs in one basket!

I applied to two schools. One was an ADN program - denied. The other, a BSN program - accepted! I start this January. I am excited!

Applied to one particular school for two admission periods and got rejected both times. Then applied to two different schools and was accepted at both. I thought the first school was my dream school, but quickly realized The Man Upstairs thought differently. :lol2:

applied one semester got wait listed/rejected. Applied to the same school for the next semester and got in on the first round. In my second semester of a 4 semester BSN program.
