How long is your program?

Just curious, how long is your program?

I am starting my program on Tuesday, and it's a short program (at least I think it is). It's only 2 semesters long if you have already completed the basic prerequisites like A&P, psych and sociology, which I have, and a total of just 6 nursing classes. So all in all, I have to take 30 credits (15 this semester and 15 in the fall), and will only spend about 8 months in school total.

What about you?

Mine is termed a "fast track" program and is 2 semesters but without any prereqs except being a CNA. So they're teaching us that stuff plus the LPN curriculum. The name seems well-applied so far. "Fast" doesn't begin to describe how overwhelming it feels at times.

The whole thing is only 22 credit hours, but there is an optional 1 credit review class you can add to bring yourself to full time status if you want to, or need to for financial aid purposes.

Mine is 15 months. I start in March!

My program was 12 months long. It was a fast-track program at a trade school that divided the school year into five 'terms' instead of semesters or quarters.

Applicants were admitted with no prerequisites necessary because everything we needed was included in the program. The major drawback was the schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm with no breaks throughout the school year.

Mine was 12 months with three semesters. We were expected to already have our prerequisites done, so it was all nursing classes. Usually 2-3 classes a semester including labs, clinical, and simulations.

Wow, my program is really short! I have this semester, all summer off and the fall semester...

Mines is 12.5 months since we have 2, 2wk breaks, I start in January end in march graduation etc, and aiming for April boards.

Mine is 15 months but we take breaks, so im assuming thats why. I start tomorrow.

Wow...15 months! That's almost twice as long as mine, and I have a break for Easter and the whole summer off!!

Mine is 13 months, but we get out for the month of July and get a week for spring break, fall break, and Christmas. So really, it's like 11 months and a week... It's fast paced though with an intersession, semester 1 and semester 2. It's three days a week, two classes a day, one day for labs, and exams every week on the previous week's lectures. It's hectic, but I didn't really expect anything less. :)

Wow, that's crazy!! I have Three class (lecture) days and 2 clinical days each week with labs 2 days a week after lecture. Tests will probably be every week between my 3 classes, but I've only been to one of them so far since my pharm is on Mondays (and this week it was MLK day) and my other nursing class is Fridays.

Mine is 12 months with medical terminology and CPR prerequisites required. Its day and evening hours throughout the program
