  1. Mine is 13 months, but we get out for the month of July and get a week for spring break, fall break, and Christmas. So really, it's like 11 months and a week... It's fast paced though with an intersession, semester 1 and semester 2. It's three days a week, two classes a day, one day for labs, and exams every week on the previous week's lectures. It's hectic, but I didn't really expect anything less. :)
  2. We just talked about this in Fundamentals the other week, and my instructor said that if any nurse profession was going to be phased out, she would think it would be diploma RNs since some places refuse to hire RNs from a diploma program and prefer RNs with ADN or BSN degrees. I can't see LVN/PNs ever being phased out. I know the hospital my aunt worked at preferred RNs, but if the LVN/PN had a good work record and personality, they were hired. :)
  3. On my very first interview, I was asked about why I wanted to work as a CNA, how would I benefit from the job, how would I treat my residents & their families, etc. my best advice is to just breathe and relax. Be confident! The interviewer isn't going to bite. (: best of luck!
  4. I know that most nursing programs around here require the CNA license before you can even take your first nursing course. To be honest, I'd go for the CNA experience. I did, and it helped me to decide if the health field was the right one for me. Work one day on the weekend, even if it's just for experience. You'll benefit. Textbooks have nothing on real life experiences :)
