Dec 11, 200619 yr My final grade in fundamentals is a 92.4% and a 93 is an A!! ughhhh 0.6% away!!I know the letter doesn't matter, but DAMNIT!!!!:angryfire:trout:Anyone else who was borderline? Hope your grade felll in the right direction to make it high!-Nicole
Dec 11, 200619 yr I can feel your pain. I am on pins and needles myself waiting on my final exam score to be posted, I am really on that edge too.You did great! Give yourself credit for working your butt off and getting there!
Dec 12, 200619 yr Oh yes.....you have to love the whole "grades are not rounded" attitude in nursing school. I think this was my favorite statement in every course syllabus in my school: "you must have a 76% to pass, and 75.99% is NOT considered passing!Even though I understand your frustration, 92.4% is a fantastic grade for fundamentals! Congratulations!
Dec 12, 200619 yr Oh yeah more times than I care to remember I've been on the borderline! And the fact that nursing school grading scale is so much different then when I got my Psych degree...really gets me LOL!
Dec 12, 200619 yr You're lucky that 93 is an A. At our school it has to be 95, which I JUST found out I managed to get in Fundamentals! Yippee!!Congrats on your terrific grade!
Dec 12, 200619 yr I seem to always be on the borderline! Last semester (Fundamentals 1st semester), I could only miss 6 on the final to keep my A. Well, I missed 6! Ended up with a 92.5% and they do round up! This semester in Med/surg, I can only miss 7 to keep my A. Unfortunately, it's 100 questions worth 2 pts each, so in reality, I can only miss 6 AGAIN! Last night I had my Mental Health final. I can only miss 12 to keep my A. I had 13 questions that were really irking me! The wording was horrible on most of those. That would leave me no room for error on the other 87 questions and would have to get at least one of the 13 right. I'm really bummed. I'll just have to wait and see my grade tomorrow. I feel for you! I'm already prepping myself for that first (maybe even second)B that may be coming my way. Unfortunately, the hospitals I will be applying to DO want a copy of your transcript!
Dec 13, 200619 yr That is so frustrating, but I would love to have 93 be and A. At our school and A is 95.5 no rounding up and to pass a class you must get an 80. No extrea credit is allowed to help make you pass. I'm waiting on my final grade but I think I got my A in fundamentals!!!!
Dec 13, 200619 yr Our A is at least at 90, with rounding up. Our B's are 89-84, and C 83-80. Anything else is F. I feel sooo bad for a few of my study group members....One got a 79.8!! (and they don't round to pass someone through the course!) OUCH. Another got a 79.7, missed 1 ? more than she could on the final. At least one study group person is going on to next semester with me, and waiting to hear about another one...(with fingers crossed.)
Dec 13, 200619 yr what is everyone complaining about. i was on edge to make a c. you all need to count your blessings.
Dec 13, 200619 yr Missed an A in Fundamentals by .8Missed an A in Psych by .3Ill be honest tho..lol... I was so burned out both times I didn't care.
Dec 13, 200619 yr My final grade in fundamentals is a 92.4% and a 93 is an A!! ughhhh 0.6% away!!I know the letter doesn't matter, but DAMNIT!!!!:angryfire:trout: Anyone else who was borderline? Hope your grade felll in the right direction to make it high!-NicoleThanks to luck and common sense, I made straight A's through nursing school, until the very last class. I made an 89.9 in that class, I missed an A by 1 test question. The real kicker of the deal was this, during the final I asked a question about a test item, because two answers were correct, the TA said, "oh just pick one, you are right, she'll probably take both answers." My choices were A and C, I chose A because it was the first option. After the final, the TA walked up to me and said that the Prof said she wasn't taking anything on any test question besides what her key said. I didn't argue (you can't argue on the NCLEX) but what a way to go out. That being said, my B didn't stop me from getting the job that I wanted.
My final grade in fundamentals is a 92.4% and a 93 is an A!! ughhhh 0.6% away!!
I know the letter doesn't matter, but DAMNIT!!!!
