We're not going to do your homework for you. These things are in your textbooks. Look them up.

When I see nasal passages, I would go for risk for infection r/t nasal fx. What about the patient's permanent visual impairment? Take a look at the vitals, too. Is his BP under control?

There are plenty of nursing diagnoses that you could come up with. Do you have a care plan book?

Not trying to be mean but you should go to your local library or bookstore and purchase a careplan book. It really doesnt seem right to ask people to do your homework for you. Figure it out, whose going to be doing your thinking for you once youre in the field?

Ah geez, another one of these posts..... i agree, look in your book - or at the very least, call one of your classmates. it helps your learning to discuss these things with them.

How about "Hopelessness- R/T student nurse's failure to study" ;)

as evidenced by asking complete strangers to do their homework for them?

I HATED care plans when I was in nursing school. I would spend hours working on my nursing diagnoses and interventions. I also knew the purpose for the care plan was to help us with our critical thinking. Even after I found out about allnurses, it never ocurred to me to ask for help. Instead, I would go to my mentor, my instructor or the care plan book for that. I did, however, would search for information about how to start IVs, which website can help me with dosage calculations, how to prepare for clinicals, etc... Allnurses has been a valuable source of information for me during my nursing school years and to this day as I ponder with advancing my RN education even further.

I agree with the rest of the posts here. We all hated care plans, but struggled our way through them with the help of BOOKS and lots of coffee. The purpose of the care plan is to teach you to think in a hollistic way about the nursing care YOU are going to give to your patients. If you do not learn to do this on your own, you may have a very difficult time becoming an independent RN who can think quickly on the spot and adapt to the changes in your patient related to disease process and treatments. I will tell you this though which helped me: I would write the diagnosis and the interventions and save them on my computer so in the future when you have another patient with the same type of problems, you can copy and paste thereby shortening the time it takes to write the plan. Tough love is a *itch LOL:smokin:

Are you asking for help with your homework? WOW. Do you have access to textbooks?

Time to put on your big girl panties.

How about "Hopelessness- R/T student nurse's failure to study" ;)

LOL...Not a student yet (hopefully starting in Aug!), but that was funny...
