first RN paycheck?

Published

I'm currently a 16 year old nursing student at Palm beach state college and I was just curious to know what others have done with their first RN/ BSN paycheck .

16 year old nursing student? I take it that means you graduated high school early, but I'm kind of curious how that works with clinicals- many facilities require age of majority for clinicals.

What did I do with my first RN paycheck? Pay bills. Save a little. Make the first months rent/last months rent/security deposit on my apartment. Honestly, if nursing is your first full time job and you either live on your own or with a significant other, nursing pay isn't all it's cracked up to be- sure, I can save a little and take a vacation every year, but it's not like I'm rolling in money.

Thank you for your response ! I'm a dual enrollment student . Starting August I'll be a early admit. I'll have my RN liscens By the time I'm 18 thanks to summer classes & the school district paying for everything

I bought a Louis Vuitton bag. My husband made me return it. 😜 I'm glad he did, but I saved a little at a time and bought it later after the Bills were paid.

Haha that's hilarious❗️ , thanks for your response

Lol love it! I bought a bunch of Chanel makeup with my first check. And a new pair of shoes I wanted.

My first lpn check was 2000 after taxes. I did a lot of OT my first two weeks. I bought food, paid bills, and treated my husband and to something nice.

thanks for your response ! Speaking of makeup I might head over to MAC right after I get my check lol

Thanks for your response ! Sounds nice , I heard of people framing their first dollar after they cash their 1st nursing check

I went shopping for my son and I. Loved my shopping spree in Sephora and Nordstroms!

Paid my student loan and put 600 in savings. I worked a lot the first 2 years in order to pay off my loan. I then saved and bought my first place before I hit year 5.

I took my husband and my Mom out to dinner. They both sacrificed for me, so I fed them as a token of my gratitude.
