Jan 4, 20179 yr if one is this excited for quitting a job, and a hospital job at that, it's probably something I should be congratulating since the work condition was, highly likely, unfortunate at best.... congratulations. what is your next venue? 9 years, I am sure you can land a job somewhere
Jan 4, 20179 yr Author Yes I have a job lol I am working in telehealth. No more running around the hospitals hallways. Plus i am almost done with my MSN-ed.i wanted advice from telecommute nurses who work from home. But didn't get any lol. But I realized that everyone has their own story so I just gave it a chance. I am a creature of habit, so that's why this is exciting for me.

Jan 5, 20179 yr Guides Woo hoo!!! :)Did the job really suck, or were you just burned out, or tryingsomething new... or all of the above?Congratulations, I guess.
Jan 5, 20179 yr Author Thanks everyone! As a 9 year RN at the hospital working nights on weekends .... yes every single weekend. I missed my family. Plus night shift was killing my health... I was just getting fatter and fatter. I started in 2007 at 118 lbs after having a baby. Today I am sad to say that I am 180lbs.....i know night shift is not an excuse, but I let myself go because... I worked so hard at the hospital I lied to myself and told myself I deserved fast food, or deserved overeating. I would sign up for the gym but on my nights off all I wanted to do was be in bed and be a lazy bum.I needed an entire change... but I am a creature of habit and I usually don't like change. I have been with my hubby almost 20 years lol.i already signed up for a 5k in feb and today I will sign up for a 1/2 marathon for the end of 2017 so I can have something to work towards to. Financially I am ok with the new job, I am working days so I will miss my night pay. I just started working from home and I love it so far. A bit challenging since my daughter is home from holiday vacation.

Thanks!!!'I loved working at the hospital. But i needed to get healthy, be with my little girl, and I wanted to work in the day time and have a normal schedule! I am so excited for 2017i am gonna get healthy this year!!
Jan 5, 20179 yr Author If you're happy, I'm happy for you!Thank you!! Finally I am using my RN license to do something else besides bedside nursing
Jan 5, 20179 yr Author That's exciting!!Congratulations. Keep us posted on your progress.thank you!i just started so time will tell. But i have 9 years under my belt, plus I am getting my MSN-ed to teach, and hopefully this year I will have my first 1/3 marathon! LOLnow I see why dayshift nurses are the ones that do all the activities in the hospital such as committees and patcipate in events lolall I wanted to do was sleep on my days off and never cared for any of that stuff.in my research class I did a paper on night shift nurse parcipation in hospital activities and found is only 12% of nurses who work at night. I always wondered why there is no night activities for the night nurses.
