I was sitting here looking at my dosage calculations book(& wondering why I decided to go to nursing school:lol2:) &I started thinking. My school requires a 100% on your dosage calculation test and allows you to take 1 retake test.
I understand why they require this but I was just wondering if most schools do this

I can't speak for most, but mine does. We don't get 100, we don't graduate. But we have three tries to make that 100.

Yes, it's common. My school requires a 92% or above in three chances or less. If it makes you feel any better, we didn't lose anyone in our class to the math exams!

My school also requires a 100%. We get 2 retakes. If we fail the last retake, we are kicked out of the program. How's that for pressure!!
We also get kicked out of the program:uhoh3: & people wonder why I am looking at dosage calculation durning my break!

Same at my school, however it was hardly talked about, no one made a big deal about it, and we havn't had to do one since second year.

My school requires 79% with one retakes. Even with the 79, about 8 people got kicked out last semester.

Thats kind of scary.
For my LPN program we had to pass with 90% every semester and for the program I'm hoping to enroll for the bridge program its 100%. I try to do all the problems twice that way if I make any sloppy mistakes I can catch them the second time around or if I get the same answers I know I'm in good shape. Good luck to everyone working on them over the holidays. Jules

90% here, we get two tries.
