Blast from the past...

So, yours truly is of an age where the original Power Rangers was her must-see TV in her preteen years. And because I've been stressed and needing a bit of 90's nostalgia, I've been re-watching the series...it's cheerfully mindless entertainment, if nothing else. Though, clearly, Preteen Me did not have the same standards regarding production quality in television entertainment.

When looking at reviews from other adults doing the same thing of the latest episode, I saw the following still image, and I had to laugh at how familiar this feels to Adult Me:

Lol - I can relate. I watched an old Bonanza episode recently (in B&W no less) and while mindless...it left me with a smile.

I went to the studio lot where that was filmed. Fascinating how they did it! Loved that show as well.

My go to classic TV from my past is...don't laugh, the Golden Girls. It never fails to leave me cracking up.

I'm not laughing - I'd be sitting on the couch next to you watching it!

Love old westerns! Movies and the series: Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, Wagon Train, The Rifleman... can spot lots of stars in their younger days, putting their time in.

Also love M*A*S*H reruns.

I do admit to sometimes keeping the TV on for noise, tuned to The Brady Bunch and The Love Boat. Mindless fluff. ?

I have been watching the Bob Newhart Show lately. Some times it is nice to watch shows that you don't have to think about so much.

I'm another fan of classic TV Westerns. I had a major crush on Little Joe Cartwright back in the day. Now I turn on the Ion channel during the day and watch police procedurals such as Law & Order, CSI, Blue Bloods and Criminal Minds. My son in law always makes fun of it and says "Oh, you're watching murder and mayhem again". Yep!

I've been stressed and needing a bit of 90's nostalgia,

It seems that every other decade perceives the decade before the last was cool. For example, I was in high school in the 70's and we thought the 50's into the 60's were cool. "Happy Days" was a top-rated TV show in the 70's and we had 50's dances called Sock Hops!

Then, in the 90's, I noticed that generation was into the 70's. I was in the 40 age bracket, had long hair and a beard, and some said that I looked like Tommy Chong or Jerry Garcia.

For example, I was riding my bike through Anomaly Illinois in the late 90's when a pickup with a bunch of guys in the bed of the truck passed me. One of the guys yelled to me, "Jerry Garcia! I thought you were dead!"

I was at sitting at a bridge on my bicycle around the same time when an old school chum I hadn't seen in years drove by. He stopped his car, backed up, rolled down his window, looked at me and said, "Dave?! I thought I was looking at Tommy Chong!"

I find it interesting that certain threads that really have nothing to do with nursing are allowed to run on a forum about nurses networking.

Now, I'm not complaining, just making an observation. I obviously "Like" Audrey Smagic's "Blast from the past..." thread.

But I'm diverting this thread just a bit and holding it hostage until I get one of these:

Talk about a Blast from the Past! Remember those little blue Like buttons that used to sit in the bottom right hand corner?

And here I thought being stressed was just a common side effect of nursing. ?
