Apologies

I used to live near Mt Baker (more snow than any other resort in North America, yo), and they have a med station that was stocked like an ED trauma bay. You could apply to "work" there (for free) if you had two years of ED or ICU experience, and if you "worked" seven days they gave you a week's pass to ski for free. I never did it because I'm not ED or ICU, but a friend of mine had a 19-year-old who skied off trail and fell off a cliff, his friends called ski patrol, ski patrol brought him to the med station, they ran a code and put in two chest tubes and then they flew him to our hospital. She says it would make a great TV show. Like Baywatch and ER combined, and then set on ice.

I never had to do anything as dramatic as that - think of a nurse on ski's who radios the real pro's when something happened. I was real good in the chalet dealing with the using coughs/colds and minor aches and strains.

Fortunately accidents weren't too bad, although we did have a group from Wales who's school teachers/chaperones refused lessons from us, and they had 9 broken bones in one week. Needless to say the following season they used our instructors.

Anyway, it was the best time of my life, and hence I made the effort to become a qualified instructor.

The first AP quote that came to my mind is probably not the one you used. So do tell.

So there was Liz Hurley, skiing badly, and here I was in my ski school uniform, and wanting to help her, and not help her at the same time. I said to myself 'That's so cheesy to help a famous person, I bet everyone hits on her. I don't want to be like a desperate fan.' So instead I skied up to her, and with thoughts of Austin Powers and her role in that famous movie, I waited for her to stop, then skied up close, and she looked me in the eyes as I said...

'Yeah baby, do I make you horny' - then turned my back on her and skied away, without looking back.

Those illustrations used to freak me out, especially the Red Queen. Her head was ginormous!

You didn't want to be a cheesy starstruck fan, so instead of coming up to her and saying "Hey, do you need help?" you opted for "Do I make you horny?" from Austin Powers?

I'm guessing, if the goal was to NOT seem like a cheesy starstruck fan, option 1 would probably have been better.

I imagine she had some very definite thoughts about you at that moment. Desperate Fan was probably not it.....but Definite Freak probably was.

I think I would have said "do you need some help, it looks like you're struggling?", personally.......

Watching you wind everyone up is hilariously predictable.

Anyone here know horses? Whoever moves the feet controls the horse. Or in this case, con-trolls the herd.
