Apologies

I am new to this online world of talking on forums. I've made a mess of things, and I ask your forgiveness.

I'm not a 'troll' although that is a reasonably new term I've discovered.

I have lots of stories, some really difficult ones, but when/if I post them in the future, I will give much better background information.

I have worked with several US nurses over here in the school job, and they've been great. I have seen some cultural differences, not good or bad, just different, but we got on great, and keep in touch even though they're back in America.

So, again, my apologies for getting off on the wrong foot.

Sincerely

A rather stunned newbie to the online world

No harm, no foul.

You certainly livened up the place, talk about exploding threads :)

Hi there! I would love to get a little background. You've talked about working in OB, med/surg, and school nursing. I haven't been able to figure out if you're American, French, or Russian, or none of the above. I can't figure out if you're 23 years old, or have been a nurse for 23 years.

Maybe an introduction?

No worries! Sometimes livening things up is a good thing.

Welcome to the wild world of nursing on the internet.

I trot this out as needed.

My advice for those so inclined to take it on the internet forum experience:

1) Not everyone is going to hear what you say the way you want it heard.

2) Someone is going to be offended, opposed or misunderstand/misinterpret your thoughts.

3) Someone will find angles into the topic you never would have entertained.

4) Someone is going to yank your chain.

5) Once you start a thread/topic- it is not yours anymore.

6) Pick your battles.

7) It's the internet.

Good luck and no worries! At least you weren't trying to see us a work from home scheme in every thread!

Are you American? British? Kiwi?

a kiwi

I don't believe your stories, but that's neither here nor there.

Yes! This! Please. You seem to have a fascinating history and I can't quite peg you down. Please tell us more about you. It would certainly clear up some people's misconceptions, I'm sure.

Glad someone else said this. I also don't believe the current "babe in the internet woods" thread. Lets see what's next.

It's not worth it. I think I have some really interesting stories to share, but it's simply not worth it. I don't have a thick enough skin for this, although I now I have had such a response, I would like to continue. But at the end of the day, I might just keep my adventures to myself.
